Meh, so I saw where someone was using basically the same title as me -.- That really irks me, because I tried to be different…Coming up with an idea I hadn’t seen on the site before…I guess my uniqueness has been taken… Thanks… But I just wanted somewhere to complain, so why not here? ;P
The Benefactor 26
Knoll walked into the classroom with his typical smirk plastered on his devious face, letting both of us know that he got away with exposing us. No matter what we did, he had something over us, the video. The video that proved everything, but I didn’t have what he wanted. I lost it in the fire, or that’s what I thought. But maybe William might know about where the key disappeared to. He had to know, otherwise Mr. Maddox would have proof, and Mr. Knight would be arrested. Then, Mordred would get away with everything. Everything I was supposed to prevent.
“Ah, Knoll, I see you’ve found your chemistry book rather quickly,” Mr. Knight welcomed Knoll nicer than ever, masking his distress, “If you will, we’re doing the dry ice lab in the back. Go ahead and put on your safety gear and take observations.”
Aww, my little scientist at work, I thought about how Mr. Knight must have been extremely smart to get a job as a chemistry teacher at the very young age of twenty-two. It amazed me, but it also depressed me to the point where I wished he was only my benefactor. I wanted to be with him, in public, but that wasn’t possible.
We had no way of holding hands outside of school- definitely inside school. We were forbidden to kiss in front of anyone, not even the people we didn’t know. Nothing about our relationship was normal, nothing. But that was the thing that I loved most…We weren’t the typical couple. And to be completely honest, I enjoyed the danger of being caught, but when it was this close, I hated it.
“Alright,” I turned to Mr. Knight again after Knoll left to the lab, “So what exactly happened between you guys?”
“Long story short, he knows about us,” He rubbed his chin where a small amount of stubble was growing, “And he’s prepared to tell…”
“But?” I glared at him anxiously with wide-eyes, “There has to be a ‘but’ to that…”
He shook his head, “Not that we can fulfill what he wants.”
“What does he want?” I bit my lip, “I’ll do anything, Mr. Knight. Anything.” I stressed the word again, hoping to save our relationship from doom.
“He wants something we don’t have…Something that we shouldn’t give him, even if we did have it.”
“Stop being so eerie and tell me!” I snapped angrily, “Is it about the key?”
He froze the very instant I mentioned the key, and I remembered who wanted it before Mr. Maddox.
“Son of a bitch!” I cursed under my breath, “That…”
“Liv, calm down, people will hear your,” Mr. Knight scolded harshly, nearly covering my mouth with his hands, “…Now what were you saying?”
“Knoll,” I squinted at Knoll in the lab, watching his every move, “He wanted the key…Right after he got the video of us.”
“That’s when you thought you killed Shane, right?”
I nodded, “And now he’s probably getting a higher power to get it for him, that sick bastard! He’s manipulating us.”
