Chapter 2
I didn't talk the entire hour drive to the airport. I just stared off out the window at all of the palm trees and the beach far in the distance, the sun setting on the horizon. The only thing that I could do was watch my last sunset in Florida. It made me shed a little tear, small enough for William not to notice, thankfully. Oh, how I would miss this place.
"Do you want to stop for something to eat, Livvy?"
I snapped my head up, "Why'd you call me that?" No one called me Livvy except Tyler, my best friend in the entire world.
He pulled his Escalade into a Sonic about a mile or more from the airport, "I don't know. What do you prefer?"
I shrugged, "It's fine, but only my best friend has ever called me that. It just caught me off guard, sorry."
"Don't apologize, it's fine. I'll just call you Olivia, if that's alright with you."
I shook my head, "Call me Livvy sometimes, it reminds me of home."
I took a deep breath, "That's actually what I need right now."
"Ok, so do you want anything?" He turned to me and smiled a little too happily for a twenty-two year old man.
"Yes, I'd like a blue coconut slushy," I blushed a little, not knowing why exactly.
"Ew, blue coconut?" He laughed at me, "What kind of flavor is that?"
I shoved him playfully, "It's yummy." I stuck my tongue out at him.
"What exactly is a blue coconut anyway?" He retorted.
"I have no idea, but let's just imagine it's a magical fruit," I snorted.
"Ah, is a coconut even a fruit?"
I gasped, "You're a headmaster to a private academy! And somehow you got your degree without knowing if coconut is a fruit?" I busted out laughing.
He shoved me with his elbow, "Hey! They change all kinds of stuff like that. For example the tomato! It's so obviously a vegetable."
I agreed, "I know, right?"
He was finally making it feel like home, or at least way more comfortable. He smirk brightened my day- what was left of it anyway. It just started to fall into place-- everything that I doubted. My heart felt like a bucket of water was dumped on it. Chills and everything overwhelmed me from head to toe. Yep, my life was slowly but obviously falling into where it belonged.
"You're such a cheeseball," He smirked, so sexy in his nerd glasses that only made him hotter.
"Cheeseball? Whelp, I must be yummy, too," I unbuckled my seatbelt and opened the door, "Are you coming?"
He blinked nervously, "Yeah, I'll be over in a minute. If you haven't noticed, we're not exactly parked."
I looked around, letting out a laugh when a car honked it's horn at us, "Oh, yeah. I'll see you over there," I pointed to a table nearest the car.
I hopped out of the Escalade and then slammed the door cautiously, not looking back at William but at the empty tables in front of me. I continued to walk towards them, not exactly watching the road or anywhere really. I blinked for a split second, and a pair of hands snatched my arms. I jumped in terror, swinging around to see what happened. I swung around, my hand on someone's chest, William's chest. I glanced up at him, my eyes a bit watery from who knows what. It didn't seem real, that moment.
