🗡️🗡️🗡️Aeri shot up from the bed as soon as her alarm for school went off at 6 AM on Monday morning. Now, usually, Aeri wouldn't be too happy to be getting out of bed that early on a Monday, but today was the first day she didn't have to lug around her iPad to communicate, and she was excited.
"Babe," she croaked, her voice sounding completely foreign to her after not speaking for a month. Bakugou stirred but didn't wake up. Aeri cleared her throat and sipped on her water bottle before she tried again, trying to make her voice sound clearer. "Katsuki, wake up." She said, pushing his hair back from his forehead.
"Is it 6 already?" He asked, stretching his arms above his head.
"Yeah," Aeri replied, leaning down to press a kiss to the centre of his bare chest before giving in and just laying back down, snuggling into her boyfriend's warmth.
"Wait you're talking," it was Bakugou's turn to shoot up this time, taking Aeri with him since she was laying directly on top of him. "Missed your fuckin' voice." He said, tightening his grip on Aeri.
"I sound like a man right now, need to get used to speaking again." Aeri chuckled.
"No you fuckin' don't, you just sound like you've got a cold," Bakugou pulled back from the hug and placed a light kiss on the healed scar on her throat. "Get ready fast so we can get breakfast before school. My treat, I don't even want to see your wallet in your bag."
"If you're buying breakfast at least let me buy coffee," Aeri attempted to compromise but Bakugou shook his head.
"I'll buy your damn coffee too." He said firmly and Aeri rolled her eyes. She climbed out of bed and walked to her closet to change into her uniform. Bakugou didn't even need to leave for his room anymore, he'd started to leave a change of clothes in Aeri's room and barely ever went to his dorm anymore.
She finished changing and walked back over to her desk, taking her bathroom supplies and teleporting right down to the shared bathrooms, quickly brushing her teeth and washing her face before she teleported back up. Bakugou was gone by the time she got back, probably having gone to do his own morning routine, so she set about taking care of Nari and starting her skincare and makeup.
"Half the damn boys just found out I sleep in your room," Bakugo thundered back into her dorm 10 minutes later, looking slightly panicked.
"How?" Aeri snickered, blending her concealer out.
"They got on the damn elevator when I was goin' down and then figured it out when I got off on the same floor as them,"
"I'm surprised it took them this long, all the girls know already," Aeri said simply. "As long as Mineta doesn't take that as the go-ahead to try and sneak into the girls' dorms then it's fine."
Bakugou sighed but sat down to watch her finish her hair and makeup. "Doesn't it get tiring doing all that every damn morning?"
"No, I like it. It's like a ritual." Aeri replied, swallowing when her throat started to hurt a bit.
🗡️🗡️🗡️
Aeri and Bakugou held hands as they walked to the café just outside campus, a spot where they'd gotten breakfast at least once a week since moving into the dorms. They thought it was just going to be another peaceful morning together in the relatively empty café but clearly, the universe had other plans.
They'd just sat down after ordering when three people burst in wearing balaclavas and carrying guns. One look at their blown pupils and the way they shook told Aeri everything she needed to know. They were junkies in desperate need of money for their next fix and they did not know how to use a gun judging by how the safety lock was still on.
Aeri sighed and stood up, fishing her pager from her tote bag. "I've got an armed robbery at the café next to UA, requesting backup, I'm off duty."
"Copy!" a feminine voice called back, probably the hero on patrol in the area.
"The fuck do you mean 'off duty'? Let's take them out!" Bakugou looked at her as if she'd just slapped his grandma.
"We may have licences but we can't make official arrests, only actual pros and the police can do that. We can disarm them but we can't do anything more." Aeri cracked her knuckles and pulled a dagger free from her holster. She gave Bakugou a wink and he smirked back at her, standing up from his chair as quietly as he could.
Aeri snuck up to the one who was holding the barista at gunpoint, making her take all the money out of the register, which wasn't a lot seeing as the place had only just opened. His gun was the only one that wasn't on safety, though it wasn't cocked. Aeri slid up behind him and cleared her throat.
"Drop your weapon and get on the ground," Aeri said calmly so as to not alert his other two friends that Bakugou was sneaking up on. The man tensed and something akin to a whimper escaped his mouth.
He turned away from the barista and raised his gun to point at Aeri to which the girl rolled her eyes and grabbed his wrist, angling his gun to the floor and sending the hilt of her dagger into his forehead, knocking him out. She disarmed him and removed all the ammo from the gun so she could hand it over to the authorities with no casualties and then checked the man was still breathing—he was.
"Die!" Bakugou yelled as he began to beat up the other two. Aeri clicked her tongue at his choice of word but watched as he effortlessly took down the two other guys.
Mirko hopped in a moment later and Aeri smiled excitedly. The bunny hero was one of her favourites. "When you said armed robbery I thought you meant something more serious, but I guess at 7:30 in the morning, you're not gonna get anything major." Mirko joked as she put the three guys in cuffs.
"Anyone who tries to pull off a robbery this early can't be a serious threat, the cash registers are practically empty in the mornings," Aeri replied, handing over the gun and bullets.
Mirko laughed. "Poor fellas obviously couldn't think straight. Thanks, Aeri, tell your brother I said 'hi'." And with that she was gone, hopping out and taking the three robbers with her to the police car. Aeri didn't know which brother she was talking about.
"Um thank you!" The barista yelled to Aeri and Bakugou, making them turn to her. "Your meals are on the house today, thank you for stopping them."
Aeri smiled but turned to Bakugou who was already frowning. She snickered and turned back to the barista who hadn't taken her eyes off the both of them. "He might cry if you don't let him pay..."
Bakugou scowled. "Remind me to kill you later," he said before facing the lady behind the counter. "Don't worry about it, I'm paying." He said rather forcefully and Aeri laughed, knowing her boyfriend too well. The barista gave them a strange look but nodded, getting back to work and Aeri gave Bakugou a light tap on the ass as she led him back over to their table.
"What's your obsession with my ass lately?" Bakugou rolled his eyes though his smile told her that he wasn't against it, he probably liked it knowing him and his constant need for physical touch.
"You have a nice ass," Aeri replied simply with a shrug. "Very nice ass." She added for emphasis.
