🗡️🗡️🗡️"Why are you in your hero suit?" Bakugou frowned as he walked into Aeri's bedroom after school, she looked up from where she was lacing her combat boots and smiled at him. She quickly finished tying the double knots and rushed over to him, slinging her arms around his shoulder and giving him a long, loving kiss.
Bakugou blinked when she pulled away, taken off guard. "What was that for?"
"Can I not kiss my boyfriend when he visits me?"
"Well I'm not complaining, but you could've fuckin' warned me so I could kiss back...now answer my question." Bakugou drawled, running his hands down Aeri's leather-clad waist, resting them just above her ass.
"Got called out for patrol," she told him, pressing her chest against his. "Jinyoung's gonna pick me up in 15."
"The ink's barely dry on your damn license, why are you gettin' called out already?" He grumbled, having looked forward to spending time with her like they did every day after classes, either training or chilling out together.
"I don't know, there's a few of us that were picked out. We got calls from our apprenticeship agencies telling us we'd be patrolling for a couple of hours." Aeri moved her face closer to his, sliding her hand up to his jaw for a kiss.
He obliged and slotted their lips together, pulling back a few moments later to ask another question, much to Aeri's chagrin.
"Who else got a call?"
"Kirishima, Ochako, Tsuyu and Midoriya." She answered with a frown, wanting to get as much affection out of him as she could before she had to go, and Bakugou wasn't making it easy with all his questions.
"Fuckin' Deku got a call?" Bakugou's brows knitted together.
Aeri nodded impatiently, pulling her boyfriend impossibly closer to her. If he wouldn't kiss her then she'd have to get her daily dose of physical touch another way.
"Babe, I have exactly 7 minutes until I have to leave." She warned him. Bakugou, who was previously glaring angrily at the wall behind her head, locked eyes with Aeri.
"Call me babe one more time and I might have to kiss you," He joked, liking the new nickname she called him occasionally.
"That's what I've been waiting for this whole time!"
🗡️🗡️🗡️
"How come we're patrolling?" Aeri asked as she and her brother roamed the streets, keeping an eye out for any suspicious activity.
"Because I'm in Japan this week and I need to patrol anyway, so I might as well take you with me so you can get some experience now that you have your license," Jinyoung told her as they rounded the corner, Aeri spotted a familiar mop of green hair on the other end of the block.
"Are we supposed to all be patrolling the same street? Midoriya is over there with Mirio," she pointed to the two boys.
"You're supposed to call them by their hero names out here...but no, this is our area so they must have strayed away from their patrol route." Jinyoung frowned but they continued their way down the pavement, towards Deku and Lemillion.
"What are you two doing here?" Jinyoung questioned, stopping in front of them.
"Oh hey! You're Hyunjin's siblings! We're on break, we planned to grab a drink at the convenience store before we got back to work since it's hot out." Mirio explained cheerfully. Aeri couldn't help but crack a smile at his enthusiasm.
Jinyoung hummed. "Don't go too far away from your route, we'll see you later."
"Bye!" Aeri called. They were about to go their separate ways when a little girl came crashing into Midoriya's leg, clinging to him and shaking like a leaf.
"Please...help me." She said, her eyes filling with tears. Midoriya bent down to the girl's height, his brows furrowed.
"Are you okay? Are you here alone?" Midoriya asked. Aeri frowned as she eyed the bandages covering the girl's arms and the deep fear shining in her ruby eyes.
"What's your name, little one?" Aeri asked gently, trying to keep her face as friendly as possible.
"Eri," The girl squeaked. She seemed jittery and kept looking back to the alley she came from.
"Eri? That's similar to my name, I'm Aeri." Aeri smiled. "What's wrong Eri? We'll do our best to help you."
"He—"
"Eri." A deep, unforgiving male voice called from the alleyway. Eri went unnaturally still, her eyes wide like a deer caught in headlights. Midoriya's eyes widened slightly as the man approached.
"Good afternoon heroes, thank you for finding my daughter, she runs off sometimes." The man gave a fake smile, his dull yellow eyes glinting in the sunlight.
"Eri, is this your dad?" Mirio questioned, looking between the dark-haired man and Eri's scared figure.
Eri said nothing and didn't move a muscle. All four heroes found this suspicious, especially with the bandages and such intense fear radiating off the girl.
"Eri come on," The man narrowed his eyes at the young girl.
"I don't want to." Eri stuttered. Midoriya stood and Eri scrambled to hide behind his legs.
Aeri looked to Midoriya and then to Mirio, who both looked like they'd seen a ghost and decided that there was something bigger going on. Something she didn't know about yet, but would soon.
An odd, wrathful aura leaked from the man and Eri went rigid for a second before she ran towards him. The man picked her up and moved back towards the entrance of the alley.
"Thank you again for finding my daughter, heroes." The man drawled monotonously. Eri made eye contact with Aeri from over the man's shoulder, practically begging with her eyes to be saved. Aeri nodded to the little girl and then looked at Midoriya.
"Deku, come to my room later and tell me what you know about that man." She demanded and Midoriya nodded, not really knowing how she guessed that he knew something. "Jinyoung?"
"Let's go. Don't let him see you under any circumstances or you could jeopardise that girl's well-being." Jinyoung already knew what his sister was going to ask and then both stepped forward into the shadows of the alleyway, planning to scout out where the man was taking Eri.
"We need to find Sir Nighteye immediately, those two can help us find the last remaining bits of information we need to take down Overhaul," Mirio said hopefully, watching as Aeri and Jinyoung's bodies faded to mist as they crept through the shadows in the direction Overhaul took Eri.
