How you meet

Most of the time, you were the only one standing in front of the bulletin board plastered with flyers, trying to decide whether you wanted to join a club or activity. You weren't expecting someone else to be there when you approached one day. 

The unfamiliar boy was intently scanning over the board, his eyes tracing over every single flyer. Intrigued, you stepped up next to him and quietly cleared your throat.

"So... you're also looking for a club to join?"

"Oh, hello!" The brunnette turned to smile at you warmly. "Yeah, I've been thinking about it a lot lately. I'm mostly considering the anime club, but... I don't really know."

You nodded in interest. "That's neat. I've also been trying to decide on a club to join for a few weeks now, actually. It– uh, it hasn't really worked, haha..."

"Oh, really?" He looked a little surprised. "I haven't seen you looking at this board before. Maybe we just come at different times or something."

"I guess? I'm taking it that you've been looking for a while, too, then?"

He chuckled and shrugged ever so slightly. "Not too long, actually. One of my friends has been trying to get me to join her club recently, though, so... probably won't be clubless for long."

You giggled in amusement. Technically you'd never seen this boy before, but he just felt comfortable to talk to. As a contrast to a lot of the other people you'd met at this school, he seemed to be genuinely sweet.

"Well, I hope you find a club you like soon," you exclaimed, holding out your hand. "My name's Y/N, by the way. It's nice to meet you."

The boy firmly shook your hand with a smile. "Nice to meet you too!! Everyone calls me MC, so you can just go with that."

"MC, huh?" You mirrored his smile and glanced back at the bulletin board. "Well, let me know if your friend's club is any good. Sounds like they're gonna drag you there soon, haha!!"

"Oh, I don't doubt it," he grumbled, though it was clearly good-natured. "I'll come find you if it ends up being the most incredible club in this school. Don't worry... Y/N, right?"

"Right."

"Well, good luck to you as well." MC chucked. "Let's see if we happen to end up in the same club..."

Joining the club

Holy crap, you and MC actually ended up in the same club.

You honestly didn't know why you decided to check out the Literature Club. Maybe it was because you could tell it was a small club, since it seemed new and not heavily advertised. Besides, you'd heard that an ex-member of the Debate Club had founded the Literature Club, and she'd been kind to you every time you'd interacted.

The second you opened the door to the clubroom, you immediately recognized MC. Mostly because he was the only guy in the club. The sound of the door sliding open had alerted everyone in the club, including him, and the second he recognized you, his face lit up with a smile.

"Woah, hey, Y/N!!" he laughed, standing up from his desk. "What are the chances, huh? Sayori, this is the person I was talking about the other day."

"Oh, really?" one of the girls piped up, scanning you up and down with a grin. With her coral hair, red bow and brilliant blue eyes, you couldn't help but think that she looked a little bit like a character from an anime-style visual novel. Maybe you were just being delusional again, though.
