Requested by Treeone2, thank you!!

This got way longer than the others so I decided to split it into two parts lmao I'm sorry

(the Monika influence [TM])

* * * * *

This was all technically your fault. At one particular club meeting, you'd been stressed about multiple upcoming assignments, and had been trying to work through some of them. Upon noticing that you were doing schoolwork rather than poems, Monika had come over to check in out of concern.

You didn't even remember what happened. All you knew is that you'd mentioned you were anxious about your studies, Monika asked if you wanted to meet up and go over a few things, you'd said yes, and now you were nervously pacing around your living room waiting for her to arrive.

Why were you so anxious? You didn't even know entirely. Maybe because Monika was known for being an incredibly capable and intelligent person, and you didn't want to look dumb in front of her, especially when it was just the two of you. She didn't seem like the type to spread rumors or anything, but you just didn't want her image of you to be stifled by something as minor as this.

She's the one that offered to help, you thought. I'm sure she's fine with it. She's not the type of girl that'd make fun of me. Right?

Right. You hoped. Monika was a genuinely sweet person in the club, and maybe you were just scared that she wouldn't be like that when she was alone with you.

A knock on the front door broke you out of your trance, and you shook your head quickly before hurrying to open it.

"Hey, Y/N," Monika exclaimed the second you opened the door. "I was worried I had the wrong house for a second, haha!!"

"No, no, I definitely live here," you laughed nervously as she stepped inside. "Uh, thank you for coming."

"No need to thank me," she said as she took off her shoes. "I'm more than happy to study with you."

Clearly you were also very happy to study with her, but you didn't know how to articulate that without sounding like a simp, so you just stayed silent.

After quickly showing her around the house, you went up to your room with Monika following close behind you. You'd basically cleaned it until even the dust was scared of entering out of fear of death, and you just hoped it hadn't changed from about five minutes ago, when it was perfectly spotless.

"Oh, I love your room," she gasped as you entered, glancing around with a smile. "It seems really comfortable."

"Yeah, it is," you said sheepishly, moving to sit at a table you'd dragged up to your room earlier. "It's... it's nice. What's your room like?"

Monika shrugged as she took the seat next to you and set her bag on the table. "Nothing much, really. It's kinda boring compared to your room, ehehe..."

"My room's not that interesting," you protested as you grabbed a few textbooks off the foot of your bed.

And neither was the first several minutes of the study session. You were definitely anxious at first, but as time passed, you started to relax as you talked more with Monika. Despite your rather irrational worries, she was just as kind as she was at the club. If anything, she seemed a little more relaxed now that there wasn't anyone else around.

Despite your different study styles, you eventually began sharing ideas and tips with each other. Organizing notes, writing down concepts– anything, really. You liked to think that you were doing a lot, but in reality, you felt like it was mostly just Monika. She seemed to understand your methods of studying and tried to offer advice based off that, which was flattering in a way.
