𝐂𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐀 𝐑𝐀𝐍 𝐀𝐒 𝐅𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐀𝐒 𝐒𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐃. She made a run for the house, hoping that she could somehow get a landline, or perhaps if she prayed for a miracle, her cellphone would somehow work. She used the trees around her to her advantage, running in circles in hopes of losing Rebecca to buy herself some time. She could hear her footsteps gaining on her, and Rebecca let out a frustrated yell, seemingly losing her cool. All Celia had to do was get her riled up enough so that she'd start making mistakes, then that would be her time to strike.
Although, it didn't seem like Celia would have to do much work to get her there.
Celia ducked behind a tree and saw the house off in the distance, and she made a run for it. She didn't bother looking back to see if Rebecca was behind her, because she didn't need a single thing slowing her down right now. Her legs ached and she struggled to catch her breath, but she didn't stop. She ran as fast as she could, trying to make it to the house before Rebecca, but something was wrong. She no longer heard footsteps behind her, but she didn't want to risk stopping on the off chance that Rebecca was still there. When she reached the house, Celia locked the door behind her, although she knew it was no use.
Her main priority right now was to buy herself some time.
She'd need something to defend herself. Rebecca had a gun, but if Celia could catch her off guard, then a knife would do. She paused in the entry way to the living room, still seeing the unconscious bodies of Nate and Sebastian. She couldn't leave them here, and there was no way that she'd be able to carry their dead weight out of here alone. Which meant that Celia was left to fight her way out of here.
She ran into the kitchen, and beelined for the knife block, only to feel a pair of arms seize her from behind and throw her towards the kitchen island. She cried out as the corner of the counter hit her directly in the ribs, leaving her winded on the floor for a moment. Celia forced herself to stand up, just in time to see Rebecca pointing the gun toward her, and in a split second, Celia ran right toward her, knocking them both to the ground. In terms of strength, Celia was at a disadvantage here, but she was agile, so she planned on using that.
"Just give it up already," Rebecca hissed. "We already know how this is going to end." They both struggled for the gun, and it took all of Celia's strength just to keep her arm pinned to the ground. Her arms shook from the sheer effort it took just to keep her temporarily immobile. "I will never stop fighting you," Celia grunted. She landed a blow to her ribs, which caused Rebecca to temporarily loosen her grip on the gun, and Celia used the opportunity to push it out of her hands and across the floor.
With the gun now out of reach, Rebecca used the last of her energy to flip Celia onto her back, wrapping her arms around her neck and squeezing tight. Celia swore she saw stars dance across her vision, and she blindly reached for Rebecca's face and dug her fingernails into the flesh as hard as she could. She let out a loud cry of pain, and Celia rolled out from under her, clutching her throat as she gasped, remembering what it felt like to be able to breathe again.
"I'm going to fucking kill you!" She roared. Good, Celia thought to herself. Get angry, Bex. She wasn't thinking straight right now, and it would be all the more easier for Celia to undermine her. All she had to do was play this right. Celia had only made it onto her knees when she felt the force of Rebecca throwing her backwards, until her back made contact with the glass kitchen table behind them. The tabletop shattered from the weight of the two of them on top of it, and this time, when Rebecca hovered over her, she used her knees to pin Celia in place.
Soon enough, Rebecca's hands were on her neck again, and Celia saw the edges of her vision go blurry, and she felt the oxygen slowly draining from her lungs. She couldn't breathe.
