This meeting in the sewing workshop had aroused a mixture of embarrassment and romance in our two lovebirds. Mary ended up raising her head and looking Jérel in the eyes. She was trying to reduce discomfort by starting the conversation.
- Your Highness, how can I help you?
- I came to make a request to the master tailor. But he's not there apparently.
- Yes, we are closed at this time but I can send him the message.
- I wanted to receive my outfit in advance. I'll need to wear it tomorrow night finally.
- Well ... The boss delegated to me the sewing of your outfit. It was already tight in 3 days but in 2 days, it's almost impossible.
- Ahh I didn't know he had delegated it. Humm... do you know about noble clothes?
- You suppose I'm not good enough to make your outfit or finish it on time?
- No dear ! (He told him with an air of guilt)
Jérel put his hand on Mary's to apologize and reassure her. He didn't want to chase away the romance that had settled.
- I'm sorry to have expressed myself in this way. If he entrusted it to you, it is because you are qualified and I am happy that my outfit is in your hands. Here is my address. You will be able to send "a carrier" when you are done.
Jerel wanted to remove his hand but Mary held him by the fingers. He turned and saw through Mary's eyes that what he felt for her was reciprocal. His heartbeat was starting to panic. His gaze plunged again and again into Mary's eyes as he brought his head closer to hers. He closed his eyes to live this epic moment when the opening of the door interrupted them. It was Michel, Mary's colleague.
Michel was passing through the corner and had noticed that the lights in the workshop were still on. He opened the door and surprised Jerel moving away from Mary. He also saw the man's hand resting on that of the woman he has always loved. He knew who Jérel was but he played the card of ignorance to make the moment unpleasant. He said to Jérel: "Sir, come back tomorrow, we are closed". Jérel said goodbye to Mary and left. Michel looked at Mary with an air of disdain. He resented her but couldn't tell her. He wondered why she had never wanted him.. Mary could see the disappointment in Michel's eyes. She tried to talk to him but he was very unreceptive. She knew she owed him nothing but she didn't want to offend him because he was always there for her. He therefore reminded her that she is supposed to be in her "year of crying", a period during which she must be single. Mary reminded him that she had not forgotten her classes at the academy and that she knew it. Michel ended up leaving the workshop. It was getting late. She put her things away and went home.
The day had risen and the sun was shining on the beautiful city of Sifane as always. The atmosphere at the palace was still as tense. Between Morak who hated his new routine and Zassi who did not like the optional courses of the royal academy, the servants suffered any kind of mood swing. But this was nothing compared to the tension between the two parents. Caesar and Bali did not speak during breakfast. Zassi, who had noticed the embarrassment, asked her parents what was wrong. Bali replied that everything was fine and that it was mourning that made her a little sad, nothing more. Caesar raised his head, looked at her and then continued to eat.
Paul received the testimonies and conducted the interrogations for the murder of the palace servant. He had brought the manager of the tavern to ask him some questions. The manager brought him nothing concrete except a young man dressed in black whom he had noticed. He couldn't describe it because he hid his face well. Paul was therefore determined to close the investigation in a week if nothing concrete was added to the file. He had therefore decided to visit the royal neighborhoods to speak in Bali since she was his personal servant. He did not want to summon her so as not to appear derogatory. So he went to the palace. One of the servants went to warn Bali that she had a visit. She asked for him to be brought to her office. Paul arrived and greeted her.
- My old friend, how can I help you?
- Nothing very special. My investigation requires me to complete certain formalities.
Bali suddenly stopped and let go of her pen. She put her sheet of paper on her side and was ready to listen to Paul. Paul first asked her about the dating of her ex-servant. She replied that she was not interested in the private life of the staff and that it was better like that. He then asked her if she had any idea of who Frida could have met in this tavern. Bali denied having any information on this subject. Paul therefore decided to end the interrogation and went home. He said his condolences to Bali and informed her that if no relevant information is added to the file, he would be obliged to close the investigation. He apologized near Bali for the slowness of the investigation and his incompetence. So Paul left the office to go home. In the corridors of the palace, he saw Caesar. Caesar, who was talking with a friend, had also seen him. Paul, who was approaching Caesar, did not know that the conversation he would have with him would provide him with the relevant information to relaunch his investigation.
