Melva, who had tied Kamal to her chest, continued on her way towards the market. She took some tomatoes, onions and some fish. She was now heading towards the spices when one of the sellers offered her an incredible price for spices. So she returned to her stable where there were some animals and food ingredients. She leaned towards the spice rack and that's when she heard a deep voice different from that of the seller.

She turned to see the person speaking. It was Raoul. He had threatened and ordered the seller to lure Melva into his stable. The poor lady didn't know someone was after her.

- That's a child I see there, is it his?

- Who are you talking about ? But who are you, what do you want from me?

- From the driver. Isn't this child Tom's?

Melva was suddenly seized with fear. This gentleman had something to do with the disappearance of her friend. She put her hand against the wool that covered Kamal and tried to find out more.

- Who are you ? What did you do to him?

- Your friend, he knew things he shouldn't have and it cost him quite dearly. And you'll know who I am soon enough.

- You killed him, didn't you? (she said with a sad, scared voice)

- Let's leave the past where it is. Tom is no more. I tend to solve problems like I did with Tom, but my boss might not like it if I do a little too much. (He approached Melva and put a penknife to Kamal's throat.) I'm not in the habit of letting those who cause me problems continue to wander around but I'm going to do you a favor and you'll accept it, otherwise neither you, nor your baby, nor anyone else you care about will continue to live. So listen to me carefully. You will ask the army to abandon the search by telling them that you received this letter.

He handed the letter to Melva who was crying, he wiped her tears and left the room. She was scared to death. She was both sad and in shock. Her boyfriend had been murdered and she had put her family in danger. The letter said that Tom was indeed on vacation in Bazek to meet his mother. She folded the letter and headed home at full speed.

Paul's messenger came to warn him that the king had expressly requested him. The great sage was therefore obliged to leave the home of his godchildren. Paul had tried to reason with Lorentz about the money from the statue but Lorentz was firm in his position. Lorentz was so bad that he decided to see the only person who could comfort him. So he asked the driver to take him to the apothecary. Just after the carriage left the house, Garuk finally arrived at his destination. His feet were covered in grass and dust and some bits of wood had clung to his outfit. It wasn't the ideal outfit for visiting his beloved but circumstances forced him to do so.

Garuk spoke to the guard at the door and asked to enter. Given his attire, the guard had taken him for a little beggar and decided not to grant his request and to chase him as far away as possible. The lady of the house who observed the scene from afar came closer to find out more.

Lady: What is it?

Guard: This beggar says he wants to see the princess.

Lady: Who tells you that he's a beggar (she said, giving him a black look.)

Guard: I'm just doing my job.

Lady: Who are you young man and what are you doing here?

Garuk: I learned the sad news and I came to support my friend Makissi.

Lady: What is your name?

Garuk: Garuk.

Lady: Wait here for a moment.

The lady of the house entered the house and headed towards Makissi's quarters. She approached the princess and let her know that a young man named Garuk would like to visit her. Makissi asked her to let him in. She walked towards the entrance and shouted "he can come!" » The guard leered at him but let him in anyway. The lady indicated Makissi's room to Garuk. He arrived and saw that the girl was in very bad shape. She was sitting on the floor, leaning against her bed. She wiped her tears before looking up at Garuk. She greeted him and tried with all her strength to hold back her tears but she couldn't. She burst into tears in front of her friend. Garuk sat on her left, and shook her hand.

- Do you remember what you told me on your first day at the academy?

- (Makissi continued to cry and shook her head to say no.)

- "We are going to support each other to get through this period when our fathers were taken away from us. » Today, it's me who will support you with all my strength so that you can brave this period.

Makissi stopped progressively crying after Garuk's words. She put her head on his thighs and wrapped her arms around him. "Thank you for being here," she said. Lorentz had arrived at Clarisse's house who welcomed him with a smile. She was unaware of the news but had noticed Lorentz's sad expression. She asked about his condition when he told her the news. She immediately offered him her condolences. She hastened to turn over her sign to indicate that the store was now closed.

- Oh dear, I am sincerely sorry. And how does your sister experience it?

- She is at her worst. I don't know what to do at all.

- You should have stayed with her and sent me a messenger, I would have come.

- If I stayed in this house one more second, I was going to break down. That's why I'm here. With you I always feel better.

After his words, he let out a few tears. Clarisse therefore moved closer to him and took Lorentz's head to hold it against her chest. She decided to return home with Lorentz to support him and keep him company.

The great sage arrived at the palace and headed towards the golden quarters. He arrived in front of the king's office and knocked on the door. He heard Caesar's voice telling him to come in. Morak and his father offered their condolences to Paul. They also asked for news of Lorentz and Makissi. After finishing the amenities, Morak spoke.

- I had an idea and discussed it with the Queen and my father. I would like to bequeath the county of Firoza to my cousin Lorentz. Life hasn't been kind recently and I'd like to support him.

- But the county of Firoza is annexed to the lands of the Duke of Jutrecky. This means that your father will lose power over this part of these lands.

- We discussed it and he agreed. My cousin does not deserve everything that happens to him and regaining the nobility will do him the greatest good.

Paul tells them that he will talk about it with Lorentz. Morak asked him to come with the prince to the palace so that the latter could inform him of his decision.
