Lorentz had arrived at Paul's house. He was welcomed like a noble by the staff of the house. He had missed this feeling. He was taken to the dining room where dinner was already served. He saw the most beautiful smile on Paul's face. Paul hastened to come and hug him to his chest. "I'm sorry," Paul said, letting out a few tears. Everyone took their place and dinner could finally begin. They started talking and Paul kept reminding himself how much he missed Lorentz.
- And your son, he still hasn't come-back yet ?
- No, he was blocked from classes at the Royal Academy of Tresoria. But it's you who's on the agenda today. Is the yesterday's girl serious ?
- I met her less than a week ago but...
- But... ? (with a joyful and provocative tone)
Lorentz, carried by romance, let his thoughts escape like a poem.
I feel like a storm is taking over my chest accompanied by a torrent of indescribable emotions pulsing inside my stomach preventing me from being rational in the immediate future. I met her recently but I think about her constantly.
Oh this lady does not deserve to be dishonored but I am ready to suffer the punishment of humans and gods if she allows me to touch her. Looking at her takes me on a journey but talking to her makes me wander.
Her intelligence and frivolity make me both proud and envious. If I could, for a moment, just for a moment, be in her place to see the world desire me. If I could one day conquer this goddess,
I'm sure even the gods would stoop to envy me. What am I saying, they would be happy to meet her! Despite all my images and my blasphemies, I am far from describing what I feel. Seeing her, it's as if my life had found its quintessence. If that's not love, then I don't want it. I just want my goddess.
The words of the young prince had delighted the great sage. He felt nostalgic especially since he did not want to remarry after the death of his wife. He was happy for his godson and wished him the best. Lorentz told him of his ambition to start a business soon in order to start a new life. He didn't have enough krika and that was slowing him down. Paul informed him that his father had set aside a good sum of money to build a statue in his likeness. The money would be enough to amply meet all his needs. But to respect the memory of his father, he declined Paul's proposal and asked him to fulfill his late father's wishes. The great sage still asked him to discuss it with his mother before making a final decision, something he accepted.
Once dinner was over, Lorentz headed home. Once he arrived, he saw Raoul's carriage in front of the door of the house. He entered and saw a few servants, Raoul and Makissi stopped in front of his mother's room. He understood everything when he saw the tears on Makissi's face and the presence of a maester and a doctor beside his mother's bed. Raoul's closed face said it all. He still decided to ask the question even though he already knew the answer. Raoul confirmed his doubts. He walked over to his sister and hugged her tightly to his chest. The maester and doctor came out and confirmed the death. Raoul followed them to go find the funeral team. Lorentz walked towards his mother's bed. He stared at her. She lay there lifeless. He didn't even realize he was crying. Not until he saw his tears hit his mother's sheet. He got on his knees and began to sob. He was recalling aloud the memories he had experienced with his mother when he heard Raoul enter the room. "They are here," he told him. It was with all the pain in the world that Lorentz cut short his last moment with his mother to make room for the funeral team.
Morak once again, had just survived one of his boring days as 'king'. He was desperately thinking about doing something he would find interesting. On a whim, he got up, put on walking clothes and asked his guards to warn the driver about a night out. He had ordered this to be done without his mother being informed. Everything was ready and he got into his carriage. Garuk, who had finished late at the carpentry workshop, had just arrived home. He saw a carriage parked in front of his house. There were royal guards outside the door. He knew Morak had come to see him. A wide smile filled his face when he opened the door. Morak, sitting opposite Mary, was checking in on the family.
Only one of the guards was inside the house with the king. He had to keep an eye on him everywhere. Garuk first wanted to take a shower after his long day of work but Morak's time was very limited. So he invited her to his room so that they could laugh, play and chat. The guard who had his eye on Morak also wanted to enter the room. But he remained guarding the entrance under orders from the king. He could hear the laughter from his position. It reassured him, he knew everything was okay.
Night was beginning to fall on Sifane. Zassi did not understand the recent recurring absences of both her parents. She had prepared to go look for her brother in the suburbs so as not to make her parents angry. Once out, she realized that her driver was not there. Her mother had borrowed it. She was forced to wait.
