It had been a few days since that talk with Yolanda. Since then, Cate and Y/N had been spending every day they had together. Tonight was New Year's Eve, and Cates favorite Holiday.
Cate and Y/N were currently at her house, in their pjamas singing in the living room. Y/N's parents went to the store, they were having a party that night. Cate and Y/N were going to attend the party but then go back to Cates house to watch the ball drop.
"Hold On" by Wilson Phillips came on. Cares eyes got big and she looked over at Y/N who was looking back at her in the same way. They immediately started to sing to each other and dance.
"I know there's pain

They were jumping all over the place like teenagers, holding the tv remotes as microphones. When finally it got to the chorus.

Immediately Cate broke out her air guitar moves. Y/N lost her breath from laughing so hard. Cate was the smartest, most intimidatingly intelligent human she had ever met but she was also the most funny, goofy, dorkiest human on the face of the planet.
Y/N just stopped and watched Cate for a moment, admiring her. She was thinking about how not many people got to see this side of her. She thought about how she knew her, saw her every day when Cate was her teacher... but she never knew her and she certainly didn't see her this way.
She felt like the luckiest human in the world. She got to love her, to be her person. This glorious freak of a woman was her partner. Her heart felt full, in this moment. The way Cate could go from the sexiest, most sensual, beautiful woman to the most intelligent, well spoken, well read, classy woman... and then to her best friend, that literally made her feel like she was a teenager again.
The way she was everything. She was more than this one role that she saw her in, years ago. She was so much more. Even then, she thought she was pretty incredible. Now... that woman could not compare, not even a little.
"What?!?" Cate stared at her, wide eyed, crazy hair and short of breath. Y/N just laughed, as she gazed upon this wild woman, she proudly called hers. "You are so damn cryptic, I swear to god Y/N" Cate shook her head, amused at the woman, who just stared at her in silence.
"I just... I love you. I really love you, Cate" Y/N grabbed her hand, and pulled her in close. Cate just smiled at her, blushing a little. They kissed and then got dressed for the party.
Later in the night
"What time is it?" Y/N asked Cate who was in conversation with one of Yolanda's friends. Cate just glared at her. "It's 9:54" Cate looked at Y/N who was clearly impatient. "Excuse me..." Cate smiled at Yolanda's friend.
"What the fuck, Y/N?" Cate laughed. "I just want to go to your house" Y/N sighed. "Someone is impatient..." she purred, grabbing Y/N by the belt loop and pulling her into an empty doorway.
"Don't worry, you'll have me to yourself, tonight" Cate whispered in her ear. Y/N felt her warm breath heat up her neck, sending goosebumps all over her body. "That's why I'm impatient..." Y/N looked her up and down and bit her lip.
"Mmm..." Cate purred, her deep voice echoing in the doorway. "Take me home, Cate. I want you to take me home" Y/N grabbed Cate by her ass, and pulled her towards her. "Now??" Cate was overcome with lust and passion. "Right now" Y/N nodded her head. "Mmm we've waited long enough" Cate smirked.
"Let's go say goodbye" Cate walked away from Y/N who couldn't seem to leave the doorway. She was so turned on and out of sorts. She was under Cates spell and she never wanted it to be lifted. She eventually peeled herself away from the spot she was in and found Cate.
Cate was talking to her parents. She looked her way. They laughed about something but it all seemed like a blur. Everything seemed like a blur, except for her. Tall, powerful, feminine and masculine. The most impressive human.
Cate nodded for her to come over with her head. Y/N came over as directed. A pawn in her chess game, a moving piece. Anything for her queen. Anything.
"Goodnight!" Cate said to Yolanda and Dan. "Goodnight" Yolanda and Dan both said and hugged them both. A couple of Yolanda's friends said goodbye as well. Some tried striking up conversation but Cate was very good at keeping things short but tactful. They would never know she didn't care about a thing they were saying in that moment.
They then got into Cates car, ready to go. "Alright sweetheart, we'll be there soon" Cate winked. "Just in time for the New Year" Cate smirked. "And what a wonderful way to bring it in, with you by my side" Cate grabbed Y/N's thigh, her fingers getting higher... intentionally brushing the hem of Y/N's underwear for a brief moment.
Tonight is going to be... extraordinary.
