"You want me to forgive you?" Alex asked, his voice trembling with emotion.

Ariel nodded, her eyes shining with tears. "Yes, please. I'm so sorry. I know I was wrong. I just... I thought you and Ella were together. I didn't realize it was all a lie. Please, Alex, I'm begging you."

Alex's eyes flashed with anger. "Is that the only reason you didn't tell me about our baby? Because you thought I was with someone else?"
Ariel dropped her gaze to the floor. "No," she said quietly.

"How could you hate me so much?" Alex cried, his voice breaking. "I've changed so much, all because of you. I wanted to be the man you deserved. But now I see that it was all for nothing."

Ariel's eyes filled with tears. "Please, Alex, I know I was wrong. I'm sorry. I never meant to hurt you. I was just so scared and confused." She reached out to touch his arm, but he jerked away from her.

"Don't touch me," he said, his voice cold and hard.

Alex laughed, but it was a hollow, bitter sound. "You love me? Are you kidding me?" He shook his head, his eyes filled with disbelief. "If you really loved me, you wouldn't have kept this from me. You would have told me the truth. But you lied. You lied to me, over and over again."

Ariel's lower lip trembled. "I'm sorry," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I know I made a mistake. I'm so sorry."

"Your apology doesn't mean anything to me," Alex said, his voice harsh.

Alex's eyes filled with pain as he looked at Ariel. He wanted to believe her, but he couldn't shake the feeling that she was lying to him. "You say you love me, but I don't know if I can believe you. How can I trust you after all this?"

"I know I've made mistakes," Ariel said, her voice breaking. "But I'm trying to make things right. I'm trying to fix the mess I made. Please, give me a chance to prove myself to you."

"How can I do that?" Alex asked, his voice heavy with doubt.

Alex's eyes flashed with emotion, and for a moment, it seemed like he might actually give in to her pleas. But then, his face hardened and he took a step back.

"I just... I can't do this," he said, his voice cold and distant. "You've hurt me too much. I don't know if I can ever trust you again."

"Please, don't say that," Ariel said, tears spilling down her cheeks. "I made a mistake. I know that. But I'm trying to make things right.

Alex's voice rose to a shout, and he pointed toward the door. "I don't want to see you right now. Just go!"
Ariel stood frozen for a moment, her heart breaking at the sight of him.

She turned to leave, her footsteps heavy as she made her way to the door. As she reached for the handle, she turned back to look at him one last time. "I'm sorry," she whispered, her voice choked with tears.
