CHAPTER 2

The sun had set, and Alex was done with his shower. He stood in front of the mirror, towel-drying his hair, when a group video call popped up on his phone.

He answered it, and saw his friends' faces on the screen.

"Hey guys!" Greg said with a grin. "What's up?"

"Hey, guys!" Raymond said, his face appearing on the screen. "What's this about?"

"Just wanted to say hi!" Greg said, and the two other guys could see the mischievous glint in his eyes.

how was your date" Alex asked

"Man, that date was a disaster!" Greg exclaimed. "She was a total killjoy.

I thought she was going to be cool, but she just kept going on and on about her beliefs and how I should change my ways. I was so annoyed!"

"Ugh, that sounds awful," Alex said, shaking his head. "Some people just can't take a hint."

"For real!" Greg agreed. "I'm never going out with her again. She totally killed my vibe."

"You've got to move on to the next one," Alex said, trying to cheer his friend up.

"I think I'll give dating a break for a while," Greg said with a dramatic sigh. "Maybe I'll just become a monk and live a life of solitude."

"You'd last about five minutes as a monk," Alex said with a laugh. "You'd be sneaking out to go to parties and stuff. You're too much of a wild child!"

"You're probably right," Greg conceded, a smile forming on his face. "Maybe I'll just become a hermit and live in a cave.

I am not one of you guys again, you keep talking to each other what about me" Raymond said.

"Come on, you know I'm just teasing!" Greg said, laughing. "You're one of us, even if you're a bit of a buzzkill sometimes."

"whatever," Raymond said with a laugh. "I feel so loved."

"You know we love you!" Greg said, giving Raymond a thumbs up. "We'll just keep you around for the boring stuff. Like taxes and mortgages."

"Oh, now you're just being mean!" Raymond said, pretending to be hurt.

"I'm just messing with you, man," Greg said,. "We're a team, you know that."

"A dysfunctional team, but a team nonetheless," Raymond said with a laugh. "I'll talk to you guys later. I gotta get some sleep. Good night!"

"Night, bud!" Alex said. "See you tomorrow."
And with that, the video call ended.

The next morning, as Ariel was rushing to school, she was suddenly drenched from head to toe in dirty water.

She shrieked in surprise, looking around for the source of the attack. That's when she saw Alex's car driving away, with a mischievous smile on his face.

"What the heck?!" Ariel yelled, shaking the water off her clothes. "I'm gonna get you for this, Alex!"

Meanwhile, Alex was laughing his head off in the car. "That was too good," he said to his driver.

"Ariel stormed up to Alex, her face red with anger. 'Are you blind? Can't you see that you just soaked me with your stupid, oversized car?'" she yelled.
