♡ 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐈𝐬 𝐓𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 - 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐦𝐢 𝐱 𝐆𝐢𝐲𝐮𝐮 ♡

Chapter XII

   Narrator's POV:

   Sanemi dried his hair using a towel, as Giyuu unfolded the blankets on the luxurious bed. Both gazed at the thunderstorm occurring outside their window.
   "Giyuu, do you remember that our last break is tomorrow?. ." Sanemi asked.
   "Yes." He said.

   Both pillars had forgotten the joy about never worrying about demons and the cruelty of the real world. . . Still, they too knew their jobs, and wouldn't dare let the other perish.
   Sanemi sat on the bed, "Do you want to go out tomorrow?. ."
   "To where?" The Water Pillar questioned the other.
   "You'll see, now get some sleep."

   Shinazugawa shut off the lights, laying in bed next to the Water Hashira. Giyuu traced the scars on Sanemi's wrist, yet pulled in closer, softly kissing the scars on the Wind Pillar's face.
   "Goodnight." Giyuu whispered, Sanemi kissed him gently.

   The next morning, the couple left, saying their farewells to the other pillars and headed out. To this moment, Giyuu had no slightest idea on where Sanemi was taking him, but the road started to become more familiar each minute. . .
   Finally, they both arrived, and realization hit the Water Hashira.

   The two Hashira stood there, admiring the gorgeous and stunning waterfall. The Waterfall Giyuu trained at when he was a child, and the waterfall where Tsutako would take him.
   He remembered how he followed his elder sister to the same waterfall. After he met Urokodaki and Sabito, the three of them were looking for a good location to train, and Giyuu had suggested the waterfall.

   "This was. ." Giyuu's eyes shifted towards Sanemi curiously.
   "The waterfall you trained at?. . ." Sanemi proposed, "That kid with a rock head and the demon sister sent me a letter about the location. . . He suggested to take you there sometime."

   Giyuu smiled, "Thank you, Sanemi."

   After a couple hours of talking and admiring the glamorous view, the two pillars left for dinner. An hour later, the couple was walking back to their estates. The two held hands, remembering the fluttering moments on when they first did. . .
   The next morning, Master Ubayashiki called a meeting.

   "I hope you enjoyed your break, Shinazugawa, Kocho, and Tomioka." He told the three. He proceeded, "The next group will consist of Tokito, Obani, and Kanroji. Now, before we continue any further, I would like to congratulate Shinazugawa's and Tomioka's relationship! I hope the best for the both of you."
   "Thank you, Master." The two said.
   "You're welcome. Now Shinzugawa, you have a mission somewhere on *****, stay strong." Ubayashiki informed. He began advising the other pillar's missions, though Kocho and Tomioka were the only two (Who weren't on their breaks) to stay at headquarters.

   After everyone else was dismissed, the only two Hashira standing were Shinzugawa and Tomioka.
   "Sanemi, stay safe. . I love you." Giyuu said.
   The Wind Pillar kissed the Water Hashira, "I'll come back. I always do. I'll always love you, Giyuu Tomioka."

   "Awwwww, how romantic!" Mitsuri spoke cheerfully. Giyuu was dragged by both of the girls into their hangout. "I always knew Shinazugawa had such a sweet heart!"
"Like I said, Tsundere." Shinobu ate the ramen that Mitsuri cooked up, "Now Mitsuri-Chan, what about you? How did you fall in love with the Snake Pillar?"
"Oh Shinobu-Chan, so you don't get a turn?"
"I don't have any interest in someone right now. I was just busy cheering for Sanemi and Giyuu to get together!"
"Cheering. .?" Giyuu asked.

The two girls nodded.

"Okay fine, I guess I'll go!" Mitsuri said.

The next couple of days, Sanemi still hadn't returned. . . Giyuu started to worry, though he knew if Sanemi, a Hashira, was called over. . .that meant the situation was serious.
Suddenly, late at night, Giyuu heard a light knock on his front door. He knew it could've been a demon, so with caution, he walked towards the door.

He swung it open, revealing Sanemi, covered in several bloody wounds.
