Chapter Fifty-One: Haunting Revelations
(Vecna's Curse, Pt. 4)

By the time they finally arrived to Reefer Rick's house, day had transitioned into night. During that time, a dull headache had throbbed at Alistair's temples, but no nosebleeds had happened, which Alistair counted as a blessing, but he wished that he had some Tylenol. He substituted for listening to his mixtape as Valerie's radio played pop songs.
When they arrived, Alistair paused his mixtape just as it was transitioning from Mad World to For Whom The Bell Tolls, as he saw Reefer Rick's house. And he immediately got why Eddie's first thought was to go here to hide from the law and shallow-minded assholes.
For being on the bank of Lover's Lake, it was pretty secluded, with nothing around it for what felt like miles. And the house looked ramshackle from time and exposure to the elements, with no lights inside to indicate any sign of life—not like Alistair was expecting the lights to be on. After all, that would be a big red flag to anyone looking for Eddie that wasn't any of the people in these two cars that he was hiding here.
At least, Alistair hoped Eddie was hiding in there. Logically, there was really nowhere else Eddie could go, but there was doubt he could be in there, with the answers of what happened last night and who killed Chrissy. In that case, they'd be starting from scratch again.
No. Don't think that. Eddie's in there. He was to be.
So Alistair grabbed his flashlight and opened the car door, seeing Hugin fly out and wing above in the sky, blending in with the darkness of the night, as he walked with everyone else up to the front door of Reefer Rick's house.
Dustin was the first to arrive, ringing the doorbell repeatedly. Usually, Alistair would have a problem with that, but he was hoping Eddie would hear it and come to the door. But when no response or any sign that the fugitive metalhead was inside came, Steve said, "Okay. Well, that's settled. I guess he's not here."
"He has to be here. Where else can he fucking go?" Rowan snapped at her boyfriend right as Dustin raised his fist to bang on the front door and yell out, "Eddie! It's Dustin, Rowan and Al!"
"Great," Steve muttered as he rolled his eyes while Alistair stared at Dustin, weighing up if he should join in or not on banging the door and yelling. His sister, however, glared at Dustin and said pointedly, "If he's in there, he's not gonna come out with you yelling at him, Henderson."
Dustin ignored her, still banging against the door and yelling, "Look, we just wanna talk, okay? No cops, I swear. We just wanna help. Eddie!"
Screw it, Alistair thought, making his decision as he shouted, "Eddie, if you're in here, Dustin's telling the truth! It's just us and we just want to talk! Come on out!"
