It was in the middle of the night and Draco needed to get up and get some water. They checked their phone and it was 3:02am. They shivered as they heard sudden footsteps in the kitchen but Harry was still asleep next to them. They got up, walking downstairs to the kitchen and as they got to the bottom of the stairs, and saw the kitchen light going on and off. They walked back upstairs, feeling scared. "Harry," they called their fiancé's name, and walked up to him, shaking Harry awake.

Harry opened his eyes, "Draco, what's wrong?" He asked, sitting up and holding out his hand for Draco to take. Draco walked over to Harry, sitting on the bed whilst holding Harry's hand, "There's something downstairs, the lights are going on and off and it's scaring me." Harry got out of bed, "Why are you awake if it scares you?" Harry asked, "I needed water, my throat's really dry." Draco admitted, so Harry got up, holding out his hand. Draco got out of bed, taking his hand. "Let's go and see what's downstairs and have you seen the time?" Harry asked again, "Yeah, it's 3 o'clock in the morning," Draco said and then realised, "Oh shit, no, I'm not doing this now." Their voice shook with fear after talking and sat down on the carpeted floor.

Harry knelt down in front of them and cupped their face, "Draco, darling, get yourself back into bed, I'll go downstairs." Draco shook their head, "No, but I hear scratching on the walls. I don't like it." They started crying and Harry pulled them into a tight hug. Draco hugged him back, burying their face in Harry's chest.

As Harry descended the stairs, he took a deep breath to steady himself. He couldn't help feeling a little apprehensive about what he might find downstairs. But as he entered the kitchen, he saw that there was nothing out of the ordinary. The light bulbs looked perfectly fine, and he didn't hear any weird noises or footsteps.

A sense of relief washed over him as he filled a glass with water and headed back upstairs. But as he was about to enter the room, he noticed that the lights were flickering intermittently. His heart skipped a beat, wondering if there was something he missed downstairs. He shook off the feeling and composed himself.

He walked over to the bed, where he found Draco huddled under the blankets, eyes full of tears. Harry didn't need to ask what was wrong; he already knew. He knelt down beside Draco and gently stroked their face, offering comfort in any way he could. "It's okay, love," he whispered. "I'm here now."

At that, Harry held out his arms for a hug. Draco got off the bed and got on the floor, hugging Harry tight and crying again into his neck, still scared. Harry hugged them back tightly, offering all the support he could. "Go to sleep now," he whispered. "I'll take care of everything. Tomorrow, we'll see what's in this house. At the same time, we'll do a spirit calling."

Draco sniffled and nodded, then got back on the bed and snuggled up to Harry, finally feeling safe enough to fall asleep. They knew they could always rely on Harry to be there for them, no matter what was going on in their lives. And for that, they were endlessly grateful.

The next morning, Draco woke up to the feeling of Harry's fingers gently stroking their hair. They groggily opened their eyes and saw Harry smiling down at them. Draco yawned and rubbed their eyes with their clenched fists.

As they stood up, Harry wrapped his arms around Draco's waist and said, "Good morning, love. How did you sleep?" "Okay," Draco replied. "But I'm still a bit scared." Harry kissed their forehead and said, "Everything's going to be fine, darling. We'll figure it out, okay?"

Draco nodded and walked into the bathroom. As they turned on the tap to brush their teeth, they called out to Harry, who followed them in. "What's wrong?" he asked, noticing the worried look on Draco's face. "Harry, I'm really scared," Draco said. "What if there really is something in the house? What if it's dangerous?" Harry took a deep breath and said, "I know, love. But we can't let fear control us. We have to be brave and face whatever comes our way. I'll be there with you every step of the way."
