Friday morning had arrived and Daisy was busy working on her laptop in the kitchen when the phone rang. It was Sophie's nursery calling to let her know that her daughter was feeling a little unwell and needed to be picked up. With concern etched on her face, Daisy answered the call, "Hello?" One of the nursery staff informed her about Sophie's condition and requested her to pick up the toddler. Daisy immediately closed her laptop and stood up to head out.
Harry, who had just finished a meeting, appeared on the scene and asked if everything was okay. Daisy explained the situation and invited him along to fetch their daughter. Harry agreed, grabbed his car keys, and off they went. Upon reaching the nursery ten minutes later, Daisy buzzed the gate and was met by the headmistress who allowed her inside. She quickly headed towards the door where Luke, one of the nursery staff, met her and informed her that Sophie was in the bathroom with another staff member named Charlotte.
After a brief wait, Sophie appeared holding Charlotte's hand. She collected her bag and met her mummy who then scooped her up, promising her a quick ride home. Once buckled up in her car seat, Sophie fell asleep after just five minutes of Harry's driving. Daisy carried Sophie inside their home upon reaching there, trying not to wake her tired daughter up.
45 minutes had passed since their arrival at home, and Sophie had just woken up from her nap. Daisy was sitting in the living room, typing away on her laptop when she noticed Sophie descending the stairs. She smiled and watched as Sophie made her way towards her.
Daisy stood up and picked up her daughter, showering her with kisses on the cheek. "How's my little princess feeling now?" she asked. Sophie rubbed her sleepy eyes and snuggled into her mother's embrace. "I feel better, mummy," she replied groggily.
At that moment, Harry walked downstairs and joined his two favourite girls. He kissed Daisy softly on the lips, then bent down to kiss Sophie's blonde hair. "Hey, little one, how are you feeling?" he asked. Sophie smiled up at her daddy and replied, "I'm okay now, daddy."
Harry took Sophie from Daisy and sat down on the couch with her in his lap. He began playing her favourite game on his phone while Daisy resumed her work on the laptop. They spent the rest of the afternoon cuddled up together, with Harry and Daisy taking turns to keep Sophie entertained.
Harry settled Sophie on his lap and handed over his phone to her so that she could play her favourite game, Playtime Island from CBeebies. She was engrossed in a game featuring the rabbit Peter Rabbit and seemed oblivious to anything else.
Daisy moved over to join Harry and Sophie on the sofa, sitting close to Sophie. As Harry played with Sophie's hair, Daisy reached out to run her fingers through his thick hair. Harry leaned his head back with a contented sigh and smiled.
Feeling a surge of affection, Daisy leaned down and pressed her lips to Harry's. For a moment, they were lost in the kiss until a cheerful giggle from Sophie broke them apart. They looked down to see Sophie grinning at them with amusement. "You two are so funny," she said, sticking her tongue out at them. Harry and Daisy burst out laughing at their daughter's antics.
They spent the rest of the afternoon playing games and watching TV together as a family, enjoying each other's company and forgetting about their worries.
Sophie's naptime had arrived, and Daisy swiftly made her way downstairs, eager to steal a few moments of intimacy with Harry. As she reached the stairs, she found Harry waiting for her with a mischievous smile, holding out his hand. Daisy's eyes sparkled, and she eagerly took his hand, feeling a surge of excitement.
With a silent understanding, they tiptoed into the kitchen, trying to be as quiet as possible. Daisy whispered to Harry that they could steal some intimate time if they were careful not to wake Sophie. A playful smirk danced across Harry's lips as he lifted Daisy effortlessly over his shoulder, carrying her into the living room.
