As a new day dawned, Daisy stirred awake and rubbed her eyes, her fiery locks tousled from a night's slumber. Harry lay still beside her, lost in peaceful dreams. Deciding not to wake him, Daisy padded downstairs to the kitchen and quickly gathered her hair into a casual bun to keep it out of her face. She set the kettle on the stove and grabbed a mug, brewing herself a hot, soothing cup of tea. With her drink in hand, Daisy ambled into the living room and gazed out the window at the sunrise.

After savouring her tea, Daisy scampered back upstairs to the bathroom, setting her hairbrush down on the dresser so as not to disturb Harry's sound slumber. She deftly prepared herself for a day at the nursery, leaning back as she brushed her hair, causing Harry to stir in his sleep. Quietly slipping out of the room to avoid waking him, Daisy finished getting ready and made her way back downstairs to the living room. There, she indulged in a quick breakfast of toast and the rest of her tea before lacing up her boots and heading out for the day.

Before Daisy could leave for work at 7:30am, Harry stumbled down the stairs, sleep still clinging to him, his black and blue locks a messy tangle over his forehead.

He shuffled over to where Daisy was seated, lingering behind her, his warm breath against the back of her neck as he whispered a sweet morning greeting. "Good morning, beautiful," he murmured, his voice still laced with the remnants of sleep. Daisy turned to him, a soft smile gracing her lips, and Harry leaned in and planted a gentle kiss on her mouth.

They lingered there for a moment, their foreheads touching, connected despite the rush of the impending morning. "I'm sorry I have to leave this morning," Daisy said, apologetic. Harry's expression softened as he gazed into her eyes. "Don't worry, I understand," he said, his fingers tracing circles on her cheek. "Just promise me you'll come home soon?" Daisy nodded, a gladness filling her heart, knowing that no matter how busy her day got, Harry was always there waiting for her at home. "Of course," she said, and gave him one more tender kiss before gathering her things and stepping out into the fresh morning air.

Daisy arrived at work and made her way to the toddler room. As she entered, she saw the staff bustling around, getting everything ready for the day ahead. A few of the children were already up and about, toddling around and playing with toys. Daisy smiled at her colleagues as she walked in, feeling a sense of comfort and familiarity as she returned to this space that she knew so well.

Just then, one of the little ones, Maisie, came running over to her, arms outstretched. "Hey Maisie," Daisy said warmly, scooping the small child up into her arms. Maisie hugged Daisy tight, resting her head against her caregiver's chest. Daisy pressed a kiss onto the child's forehead before finally setting her back down on the ground.

As Maisie ran off to play, Daisy felt a sense of joy and fulfilment in her heart - this was exactly where she was meant to be.

Just then, the manager, Mandi, walked in and offered to take Daisy's bag and jacket up to the manager's staff room for safekeeping. Daisy thanked her and watched as Mandi made her way up the stairs before turning to focus on the children, eager to start yet another day of nurturing and caring for the little ones under her watchful eye.

As the clock struck 11, Daisy's attention turned to helping the children through their lunchtime routine. Rows of small bowls were set up on a long, low table and Daisy made her way around the room, spooning food onto each child's plate, chatting and singing silly songs to keep them engaged.

As she worked, her eyes caught sight of Maisie, who sat quietly with a worried look on her face. Concerned, Daisy knelt down beside the little girl and brushed her hair out of her face. "What's wrong, sweetie?" she asked, using her calmest, most reassuring voice. But before Maisie could answer, the door to the room burst open and the manager of the sister nursery stepped in. Daisy knew of her strict reputation, having heard rumours that she was a no-nonsense sort of person.
