As Daisy sauntered along the winding path on a Tuesday evening, she could hardly contain her exhaustion. She had spent the entire day attending classes, intermingled with fresh-faced teenagers and some grown-ups of her own age. It was a peculiar experience that she was still trying to make sense of. With the day done, she finally approached Molly's residence and swiftly announced her presence by pressing the doorbell. Molly, who had been waiting on the other side, immediately ushered Daisy inside.
As soon as she stepped through the doorway, Molly kindly inquired about how Daisy's day went. "It was just alright, a bit odd being amid such young individuals," Daisy replied as she climbed up to her room and dropped her heavy bag to the floor.
As she settled onto her bed, George strolled by her room, beaming at the sight of her. "Hey, how was college?" he warmly asked, approaching her. "It was pretty dreadful. But I didn't want to say anything negative to your mum. You know how your parents are - I don't want to cause any trouble," Daisy admitted sincerely. "Oh, don't worry about that now. Actually, my parents have been trying to fix us up for a while now," George chuckled, looking down at Daisy.
Daisy rolled her eyes. "Yes, I know," she sighed. "Well, I was thinking, we could hang out sometime. Maybe go for a coffee or go for a nice peaceful stroll in the park?" George suggested, a friendly grin plastered on his face. Happy with the kind gesture, Daisy became intrigued and accepted his offer. As George pulled up a seating chair to join her in her room, she couldn't help but smile at his sweet nature.
It was now Friday afternoon, and Daisy was looking forward to her coffee date with George. She had picked out a cute outfit that she thought was perfect for the occasion. She wore a white long-sleeved top that matched the light blue dungarees she had on. She completed the look with a pair of black converse shoes.
When she arrived at the coffee shop, George was already there, waiting for her at a table near the window.
As she made her way over to him, she couldn't help but notice that he had bought her a hot chocolate and had a coffee for himself. "Hi George," she greeted him warmly as she sat down, taking her jacket off and placing it beside her. "Hey, Daisy," he replied, beaming at her. "I hope you like hot chocolate. I know it's not coffee, but I thought you'd enjoy something a little sweeter." Daisy smiled, grateful for the thoughtful gesture. "Thanks, George. That's really sweet of you."
As they sipped their drinks and chatted about their week, Daisy couldn't help but feel a sense of comfort around George. Their conversation flowed effortlessly, and she found herself laughing at his jokes. Daisy couldn't wait to see what George would come up with next.
As Daisy and George walked back towards the house, hand in hand, they enjoyed the cool evening breeze. It was getting dark, and Daisy was thrilled to have seen her favourite green insect. She suddenly spotted something small and green on the footpath and raced over to it. As she picked it up, a sense of joy overcame her.
It was a tiny, bright green bug, and she carefully cradled it in her hands to bring it close to her face. "Look, George! Isn't it cute? I love these little guys," she exclaimed, showing him the insect. George, who was taken aback by Daisy's love for insects, couldn't help but break into laughter. "What's going on with you and insects?" he asked, chuckling. Daisy simply smiled, "I've always had a fascination with nature, and I think insects, in particular, are so interesting, don't you?" George nodded, still amused by her love for insects. "Sure, I guess they're interesting," he replied, still smiling.
Daisy then proceeded to name the little green bug Harold, and they continued walking, hand in hand, towards Molly's house. Daisy had a feeling that things were moving in the right direction between them, and she felt excited for what the future may hold.
