so...i had no idea what to do for this oneshot, so y'all are not getting angst this week. BUT i wrote this short cute fluffy little dexiana fic so here you go <3

-----------------------------------

Biana smoothed down my purple frilly dress, making sure there were no wrinkles in the shimmery fabric. The dress was a beautiful one, a deep shade of violet, off-shoulder sleeves made of smooth ribbon.

Taking another bite of her butterblast, she sighed to herself, watching all the girls at the ball getting twirled and spun around the large, lit-up room.

She had no one to dance with.

Sophie had clumsily tripped and stepped on Keefe's brand new fancy shoes at least a hundred times, but he didn't seem to mind.

Linh's head was on Marella's shoulder, their dancing perfect and smooth, exactly on beat to the slow, romantic melodies played in the room.

Fitz twirled his own girlfriend, Chandi, in circles, soft smiles etched on their faces. Their fingers were intertwined lovingly.

Biana spotted a boy lingering in the corner. His hair was in messy strawberry-blond waves, his eyes bright and shining. He was leaning against the wall, checking his nails.

Their eyes connected, teal meeting periwinkle. His lips curled into a smile, his dimples showing.

Biana moved her fingers in a little wave, hoping to catch his attention. His cheeks turned slightly pink, giving her a wave back.

She decided to go over to him, passing rows of boys and girls dancing and talking. Chatter filled her ears, the fresh aroma of pastries and drinks filling her nose.

"Hey." She greeted. "I'm Biana."

"Riana?" He asked.

"No. It's Biana."

"Bianca?" He repeated, a bewildered expression on his face.

Biana laughed. "Uh, sure. What about you?"

He looked over his shoulder, trying to make sure she was talking to him. "Me?"

He clearly wasn't used to people talking to him. "Yes, you."

"Uh, I'm Dex. Dexter Dizznee." His confidence from before seemed to have evaporated the second she spoke to him, his ears turning red.

Oh, she realized. He was a Dizznee. She never had anything against Dizznees, not really. They had been shamed upon because of Juline and Kesler's marriage. Biana didn't care, it wasn't her business to look into. If they wanted to get married, that was their choice. Her parents would tell you differently, however.

Despite this, Biana's smile turned even brighter. "Vexter?"

"What?" His eyes widened. "No, it's Dex."

"So...Exter?" She grinned mischievously, a smirk playing on her lips.

He rolled his eyes, blushing even more. "No-"

"That's a beautiful name, you know? Exter. Exter, Exter, Exter. So pretty." She continued, enjoying the embarassed expression on his face.

"Thank you?"

"I'm bored, aren't you?" She changed the subject once again, in an attempt to continue the conversation.

"Uh, yeah."

"Let's play questions. You start."

"Um, okay. What's your favorite color?"

His question was simple, boring even. She decided to spice it up a bit, maybe even flirt. What? He was really cute.

Biana leaned closer, so close she could count the freckles on his face, so close their noses almost touched, so close she could describe every crook and curve of his face.

Her voice was barely above a whisper, "The color of your eyes."

She enjoyed seeing him flustered like that. It was cute.

Coming back to his confident nature from before, the redhead grinned. "Want to know what my favorite color is?"

"What?" She placed her hands on her hips playfully.

He ran his fingers through his hair. "The color of your lips."

Biana was taken aback. She didn't know he could flirt too, but she wasn't exactly complaining. "Well, Exter, my lips could never beat your eyes."

"Oh Bianca, I'm sure they could." His soft tone made her heart race. "Want to test it out?"

"Oh, no, not just yet." She threw her head back, tucking a brown lock of hair behind her ear.

"Ah. I see. Fine." He pursed his lips in a pout, playful irritation flickering across his features. "Dance with me, then."

"Dance?"

"Would you not like to?" Dex asked smoothly, his hands in his pockets.

She grabbed his hand, looking up at him. "I'd be delighted to."

He grinned, pulling her on to the dance floor. Her hand was positioned on his shoulder, the other grasping his warm fingers. His other hand was perched on her waist, his eyes looking into hers.

They danced in perfect rhythm, synced to the slow beat of the song playing from the speakers overhead.

He let go of her hand, twirling her around in a circle before she fell back into his arms. They danced to the center of the ballroom, never taking their eyes of each other.

Couples around them glanced at the pair, but only for a second. No eyes were on Dex except for Biana's teal ones, and no eyes were on Biana expect for Dex's gaze.

She felt like Cinderella almost, her purple dress flowing around her, the full skirt coming into view. Her body was free, her feet moving in a natural rhythm she couldn't describe.

And his smile, oh my, his beautiful smile. It never once left his face.

His shirt was untucked, the sleeves slightly too big, and she was pretty sure one of the buttons was loose. Her hair was flying around her, falling into her face so fast she could hardly brush it away.

Dex's fingers left her hand for a second, moving a loose brown curl away from her face. When their bodies came into contact once again, electricity ran through her spine.

His touch was magic, enchanting even, drawing her closer, pulling her in like gravity. His lips were slightly parted, soft and pink.

And then it all stopped. Everyone else turned black and white, shades of boring gray and hues of bland color she didn't care about.

The only colors she could see were his smile, his nose, his lips, his face, his eyes, his touch. The slightly blue color of his wrinkled tunic, the violet color of her dress, the color of his hair which was not quite red but not quite blond, the color of his eyes, the blues and purples mixing together making something so ethereal, so divine, she couldn't possibly begin to describe.

It was perfect.
