This request was by Jack_Wukong, who wanted one where Macaque doesn't die in JTTW OR one where, when Wukong is kicked out of the journey but he doesn't come back and finish it. I wasn't sure if you wanted it set back then, or set in LMK to see how things would change based on this happening. So I did the first, and if you wanted something else then just send me another request and I'll do like a part two to this.
(This is based and set in JTTW (Journey to the West), so if you don't know much about that then maybe watch the summary of JTTW by Overly Sacastic Productions on YouTube. It's really good, so watch it anyway.
Stupid. This was so stupid! Wukong couldn't stand how absolutely annoying Zhu Bajie was and how horribly gullible their master was. This wasn't even the first time that damned pig had lied about Wukong. It sure was going to be the last though, he thought bitterly, riding on his nimbus cloud back to his home.
After being kicked out of the group after Zhu Bajie lied about that cursed demon Wukong had killed three separate times and Tripitaka had used the circlet on Wukong, the aftermath Wukong could still feel pounding in his skull like an ache.
He put his hands up to feel the golden band around his head, not even bothering to try and remove it at this point. He'd started to become used to the weight on his head, but the crushing feeling of the spell and the headaches after were something he'd never get used to.
Hopefully, he'd never feel that pain again, and now far away from the only person that had ever used it on him Wukong was optimistic that it wouldn't be a problem. He was still salty about being kicked out though after everything he'd done for them and all the effort he'd put into trying to change, to be thrown aside on the word of a filthy liar felt more of a blow than the fucking circlet and bitterness rose inside him at the thought of what he had considered friends.
None of the others spoke up while this was happening though, so in Wukong's mind that made them just as bad as the pig and their stupid master. Not that he was Wukong's master anymore, no. Sun Wukong was free, and as his island came into view his scowl disappeared into a curling smile, delight at the familiar sight of home.
He couldn't wait to see everyone!
Very quickly he learned of the attack from heaven and Erlang Shang and as he looked at what was left of his previously thriving people and home, with nothing but destruction and ashes left behind, he vowed to never leave again. He'd protect them with everything he had.
It was strange to him listening to them all retell what had happened and when he learned of the poachers targetting them and how they'd had to hide anger built inside his chest, a murderous blood rage curling through him with animalistic ferocity.
With no Tripitaka around to tell him not to, Wukong found and then tore through the group of humans like they were made of paper, reveling in the blood and spilled organs are he tore through their skin and bones, his jaws and hands stained. He hadn't even bothered getting out his staff.
Sitting at a feast of celebration for his return and the death of the poachers, Wukong turned to the only general who had survived the fight with Earling Shang and asked him the question that had been sitting in his mind since his return.
"Where is Liu'er?" Wukong hadn't seen his other half since their argument at the mountain, and though Wukong was still angry at him for leaving, he struggled to believe that Mihou would leave their people to die at the hands of a celestial purely out of spite for Wukong. No, he had to have been here, surely? So where was he now?
