Okay! I actually was really excited about this one, it's our first Chimera shipping (and the first time I've written MK and Mei in a relationship), so I hope you guys enjoy.
This request was by @Molefenalerena who wanted a Chimera ship (Mei/MK/Red Son) where Mei's parents are being horrible towards her so she goes to MK who calls Red over so they can comfort her.
Anger swelled up inside her as her father's voice grated on her ears, his sharp tone boiling her blood as he scolded her once again. It was something so small, too, and it wasn't Mei's fault she'd gotten her clothes all oily after working on her bike. If anything, it was her mother's fault for making her wear the stupid dress for that party Mei hadn't wanted to even go to in the first place.
How could they expect her to keep it clean when she didn't just sit around all day like they did?
She had to bite down on her tongue to stop herself from arguing back, physically choking back angry words as her fists trembled at her sides and by the time they were done she felt like a volcano about to explode, keeping her head down so he couldn't see the anger in her eyes.
She waited until they were well and truly done, taking their words and their disappointed stares before finally being allowed to go to her room and it took all her effort not to stomp back, shutting the door to her bedroom a little too hard and flopping right onto her bed, her face buried into her pillow as she opened her mouth and screamed.
Her emotions spilled from her lips, anger, and frustration easily coming out until it died down and suddenly she was crying, not really sure how the boiling anger dissolved into awful sobs as tears rolled down her cheeks and dampened the pillow.
It just wasn't fair, how different and weird they made her feel. It wasn't fair that even here in her own home she didn't feel like she belonged and didn't feel like she was good enough. Mostly because she wasn't, not here, but she knew one place she always was and grabbed her phone, wiping her tears away with her arm roughly and breathing in deeply to shove down the hollow, sad feeling inside before getting up and sneaking out of her room.
It was easy because she'd done it so many times before, tucking her phone into her pocket as she rushed through the empty hallways and boring rooms, letting out a loud exhale the moment she was out of the stuffy house, the weight on her chest loosening just a little.
She kept moving, grabbing her bike from the garage and shoving on her helmet before zipping off, the house quickly left behind her as she raced through the city, her mind solely focused on her destination as she tried to block out the echo of her parents disappointed words from her mind.
They stung, and she struggled to keep her attention on the road as she drove to the place she'd spent more time at than her own home, parking her bike and rushing into the shop and straight up through the stairs to MK's apartment, knocking on his door. It was evening so she knew he'd be done with deliveries by now and was probably watching Monkey Cop knowing him and she knocked again loudly when he didn't immediately respond.
"MK? It's Mei!" She yelled, and there was a noise from inside and then footsteps to the door, opening to reveal MK with messy hair like he'd just woken up, still blinking himself awake. So he'd fallen asleep then.
"Mei?" He asked, a little out of it before blinking and then registering who was at his door, his eyes crinkling with delight.
"Mei! You're here!? I thought you had that thing with your parents this evening?" He asked, bouncing in excitement at seeing her and her own smile dropped off her face at the mention of them, the mood changing so suddenly and drastically as she remembered why she'd come here.
"Yeah... about that..." She started, voice trailing off as she rubbed her arm uncomfortably and MK's head tilted, his own enthusiasm dying down when he realized she wasn't just here for a social call.
"Can we just... cuddle for a bit? I kinda need a hug right now." She admitted softly, and her partner wasted no time in rushing forward, squishing her in a crushing but comforting hug that she immediately sagged into, all the emotions from earlier simmering back to the surface.
She tucked her face into his shoulder and then, much to her surprise, she found herself once again crying, tears spilling over easily as she clutched on tighter, knowing she was safe enough to do so. MK started rubbing her back as she cried, somehow still holding her close as he tugged them both into the room and then guided her to his bed, sitting down as Mei held onto him while her eyes squeezed shut.
She felt her body tremble, shaking as she dug her fingers into his jacket and he let her, silently holding her and letting her fall apart. It was nice that she could do that, never once feeling judged and it was just so different from her parents that it ached.
She wished they loved her the way she was, the way both her boyfriends did. She wished she didn't seem to disappoint them with every breath.
MK was rubbing circles on her back, happy to just hold her until her tears slowed down, leaving her raw and exhausted when suddenly there was a knock on their door and Mei sniffled, arms tightening around MK who pet her head reassuringly.
"The door's open," MK called out and a moment later the door opened, Mei twisting her head in confusion only to see Red Son walk through the door, his eyes narrowed until they caught sight of her and she watched them soften ever so slightly, stepping closer.
"You're here?" She asked wetly, a little surprised to see him and she moved to look back up at MK, who was smiling and patting the empty space of bed next to them.
"I texted him." He explained simply, waving his phone and she blinked at the sight of it, wondering how she hadn't noticed that. Well, it didn't really matter now and she shuffled over slightly so their boyfriend could lie down with them, making grabby hands to let him know she wanted him to hug her too.
He rolled his eyes but sat down on the bed, Mei moving off MK so she could hug her other boyfriend as well, both of them sandwiching her protectively on the bed, and she resting her head on Red's chest, bringing her hand up and grabbing MK's hand to hold it as she closed her eyes again, warm and loving.
"Was it your parents again? I can burn them both to ash if you need me to." Red said suddenly, tone deadly serious and Mei laughed in surprise, a small smile quirking at the corners of her lips as she shook her head.
"No, that's okay. Thanks though." She said, knowing he was serious, and even though she'd never want that she was still touched he was so easy to offer things like that. It showed he cared, and she enjoyed the protective tone in his voice whenever he threatened whatever had upset her.
It was even nicer when both boys knew she could vanquish her own enemies but still offered to do it for her anyway, taking any task readily so long as she asked it of them.
"Whatever they said don't listen to them, okay? We love you just the way you are." MK said kindly, his bubbly voice soothing and her chest swelled with adoration as she squeezed his hand, breathing in sharply at his words because they were something she hadn't even realized she'd needed to hear.
Perhaps her parents' words had affected her more than she'd meant to let them, because now she was crying all over again, tears slipping from her eyes at the overwhelming difference in feeling. Going from somewhere she left unwanted and wrong to somewhere so safe, supported by people who loved her just the way she was.
"Ah sorry! I didn't mean to upset you!" MK rushed out, panicked, and she snickered out a laugh, wiping her tears away with her free hand and shaking her head.
"No, no you didn't upset me, don't worry. I just... I love you guys so much." She admitted gently, looking up to find them both smiling at her, MK's smile wide and bright and Red's soft and warm but both just as adoring and her heart fluttered happily at how lucky she was to have them.
Her parents' opinions didn't matter so much when she was already loved so clearly just the way she was.
(I love these three so much <3 And writing Mei was really interesting! Hope you guys enjoyed and thank you very much for the request Molefenalerena. Hope you're all having a good week and I'll see you soon!)
