(Last time- MK meets the JTTW gang after getting stuck back in time. Past Wukong decides to teach him some shape-shifting and MK gets stuck as a wolf. The group settle into an abandoned village for the night and they've promised to help MK find a way back home.)

When he woke up, he was surprised to find it was natural and startled at the lack of sound from his alarm clock only to open his eyes, stand up on four, furry legs and immediately sit back down, mind catching up with the events as he closed his eyes again and sighed.

He'd hoped it had all been a dream.

Suddenly he shot up, realizing that the others weren't next to him and panicking. Where were they? Before he ended up hyperventilating he took a deep breath and listened, using his hearing to try and locate them before he ran around aimlessly like a headless chicken.

Luckily, there was the sound of Beiji's voice nearby and he bolted out the house, leaving dying embers in his wake.

He found the group sans Monkey king near the stream, filling up the water pouch while Tripitaka munched on what looked like berries. At just the sight MK could feel his stomach growl in hunger. He wondered if, as a wolf, he'd even be able to eat berries.

He really hoped he wouldn't have to eat an animal. He shivered at the thought, feeling slightly nauseated at the image of a split open rabbit, guts everywhere.

"Where's Monkey king?" was the first thing that came out of his mouth and honestly he was a little ashamed that he hadn't even said good morning or tried to be polite. Sometimes, his lack of brain to mouth filter was seriously a hindrance.

"He left before you woke up, we decided the place was safe so he went to get Guanyin and ask her if she knows anything about the whereabouts of that artifact you mentioned." Tripitaka answered in between bites of berries and MK perked up at the thought of going home.

"That's great! How long do you think it will take him? Are we just gonna wait here while he's gone? Should-"

"Hey kid, calm down yeah? He'll get here when he gets here." Beiji cut him off and it was just so familiar to MK that he smiled brightly at the interruption and just nodded happily, tail wagging behind him like an eager puppy.

"So what do we do while we wait?" He asked after a minute of silence, everyone had continued what they were doing previously and MK wasn't sure what to do.

The others all collectively shrugged, each responding differently.

"Well I'm gonna go out looking for food to eat and then nap," Beiji said.

"I'm going to meditate." Tripitaka spoke next and then Sandy finished, saying,

"And I'll just gather firewood for tonight."

MK nodded, looking over to Beiji who immediately looked away like he didn't want to talk to him. Used to this from Pigsy, MK didn't mind and started talking anyway.

"Can I come with you?" He was really hungry and didn't want to look for food alone so this seemed like the perfect opportunity.

His stomach agreed with him, once again aching at the thought of food and for a moment he wished he was back at the noodle shop so he could enjoy some of Pigsy's noodles. Hot, steamy, delicious noodles.

His mouth watered at the image.

"No." The demon said, as bluntly as possible and MK grinned back, bouncing on his four legs as he walked over and began to follow him.

"What're you doing, kid?" He asked, turning around and putting his arms over his chest.

"Coming with you!" MK responded cheerfully and Beiji just sighed and kept walking, not telling the kid the leave but also not telling him to follow. MK followed along happily anyway, easily keeping up with his abundance of limbs. For the most part, they walked in silence, though Beiji kept looking down at him every now and then, not that MK noticed. Finally, the other said what he was thinking.
