(This is kinda a long one. I wrote this over a year ago, probably more, back when season 2 of LMK had only just come out and it's been sitting in my Google Docs ever since. I've never really had a place to put it, so I'm gonna put it here. Just keep in mind that this was written way before season 3 or 4 came out and is about MK going back in time and meeting the JTTW crew.)
How was this his life?
MK sighed as he woke up, feeling his head for any injuries with the way it was aching and finding none. The next thing he did was look around, finding himself on a stony road that looked to be in the middle of nowhere with nothing but trees and hills in sight.
A thought struck him and he looked around wildly for his staff, not seeing it then panicking for a few minutes before calming down with deep, hysteric breaths and trying to remember what had happened.
The last thing he recalled was battling Red son for some artifact he and his family had been trying to steal and then Red son had dropped it and it cracked and MK had moved to pick it up, touching it when a bright light blurred his vision completely. Then he'd woken up here.
With nothing but his clothes and completely stranded.
"Mei?" He called out, cupping his hands to his mouth as his voice carried on over the hills. He waited but there was no response. Not that he'd really been expecting one.
Oh well.
He looked around once more before picking a random direction, shrugging, and beginning to walk. Maybe if he could make his way to the nearest town or village or city then he could find a phone and call Pigsy.
With that thought in mind, he bounced along the path, humming to himself with a grin because everything was absolutely fine.
Everything was not fine.
MK let out a loud and obnoxious groan as he dragged his feet along the road. It felt like he'd been walking forever! His feet hurt and he was tired and hungry and thirsty and he really wished his staff was here because then he'd get back way quicker! Without having to do all this tedious, boring walking.
He wondered how everyone was doing.
It wasn't till he was nearing a mountain he'd have to either climb or go around that he actually heard something, voices, and he practically squealed in delight as he rushed towards them because it could be someone that could help!
He was getting closer to the sounds that he could just make out as loud yelling when he stopped, biting his lip as his body tensed.
He'd been so excited thinking these people could potentially help when he hadn't considered that they could just as likely be demons either.
Demons that could recognize him.
Demons that could probably take him down now that he was without his staff.
The sounds drew nearer and MK darted behind a nearby rock, squishing himself into a small space that would conceal him. Maybe he could wait until they passed? And see if they were human? That way, he could run after them and ask directions but also if they were demons then hopefully they wouldn't see him at all.
That made sense, and it was a good enough plan that MK nodded to himself, calmed his breathing and got ready to wait, not daring to move.
It wasn't that he was helpless of course, not at all. He could fight without the staff. He just- wasn't as good and wasn't willing to risk it.
So he waited and waited until finally, those voices drew even nearer, loud enough for him to hear exactly what they were saying.
Not that it was easy to hear over the rushing sound of his own heartbeat in his ears as he tried very hard to stay completely still.
