After the failure to find a place to crash at I felt dejected and I made my way towards my room. With a huff I fell on top of my bed and laid there for a bit. After awhile I rolled over and laid on my back, staring at the ceiling. I felt my phone vibrate so I fished it out of my pocket and looked at the lock screen, it was a text from one of my best friends Nick.

I rolled my eyes and sat up to walk over to my pc set up and turned on my pc. As I waited for everything to load up I pulled my phone back out of my pocket and scrolled through instagram. Once I noticed my pc loaded I typed in my password and quickly opened discord. Almost immediately I was invited to a call by Nick. I let out a soft chuckle as I accepted and joined the call.

"(Y/n)! You joined!!" Nick's voice sounded through my headset. I smiled and replied.

"Of course I did, I knew you wouldn't stop asking if I didn't."

This caused him to laugh which made me smile wider. I loved Nick. He's also a youtuber, just like Kaden. He goes by Softwilly online. I know, very mature. We've been friends for roughly two years now. We first met through my brother. Kaden has played games with Nick before and has let me join them a couple times. Nick and I hit it off instantly and became best friends quickly.

I checked his status briefly and saw he was playing rainbow six siege. What? He hardly plays that game anymore. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion but opened the game and asked him for an invite. He invited me and we got into a match fairly quickly. We began playing and joking with each other. Nick was a very funny guy, he could always make me laugh no matter how upset I felt.

"Plant the bomb! Plant it!!" Nick screamed into his microphone. I was currently fighting in a 1v1. I was panicking as I continued to check each corner repeatedly.

"You're literally throwing Y/n!"

My face contorted into a frown as the words on the screen read 'Defeat'. The time ran out. I should've planted the bomb.

"Oh my gosh, I didn't even realize there was barely any time left in the round." I groaned in frustration.

"Hey it's alright, it's not that important." Nick reassured me. Then he laughed. "But, you totally could've won the game for us."

I groaned again as Nick continued to laugh at me. We played a couple more matches up until I began to feel tired. I looked at the time and gasped. It was already 1:03 am.

"Hey Nick, I think I'm going to get off and head to bed. Thank you for making me feel better, I really appreciate it."

He chuckled.

"Of course, um do you mind telling me what upset you?"

I paused. Should I tell him? I pursed my lips together and spoke slowly.

"I... I found out I'm being evicted and I only have a week to move out."

The other side of the call went quiet. "Do you have anywhere to go?"

I looked down at my keyboard in embarrassment.

"No."

Nick sighed but the words that left his mouth made my jaw drop.

"You could stay with me."

"Seriously?"

He chuckled.

"Yes."

I blinked back tears. I can't believe it.

"You're the best Nick. I don't know what I would do without you."

"Die, rot, etc." He joked which caused me to laugh.

I thanked him before turning off my pc. He said he would give me the address and more details later on in the week. I'm so glad things worked out this way.

I stood from my seat and walked over to my bed. Once I was laying down and under the covers my mind began to race. Nick and I never met in person before, we've only ever talked to each other online. Of course we knew what we looked like, we had each other's socials and I've watched plenty of his videos on YouTube. Maybe not every video.. at least eight videos. I know, I'm a bad friend. However when I did first see him, it was through a selfie he had sent me a month after we first met. I couldn't help but think he was good looking, I mean he still is but he's my best friend and I don't see him in that way.

Yawning, I turned over onto my side and closed my eyes. I was able to rest easy now that I had a place to stay once the week was over.
