It took awhile but we finally packed into our respective cars, me with Nick and Larry and Blake with the other two, and got to the restaurant. I don't know what I was expecting but I can say I was for sure not expecting Chucky Cheese.
When I stepped out of the car all I could do was stare in awe and confusion at the giant LED mouse sign standing in the parking lot. No way these guys seriously wanted to eat here. My thoughts were interrupted when I noticed Nick pull out his camera and it all made sense.. kind of.
"Hey guys! What's up? I hope you are all doing good, every single one of you."
Nick said puckering his lips and kissing the camera.
"Today the group and I are going to be eating at..."
He paused and turned the camera around to show the building then quickly turned it back to him.
"Chucky Cheese!"
I looked over at Tanner and Larry who were now cheering behind Nick. They looked like little kids. I laughed slightly but quieted down to listen as Nick continued on with his intro.
"As you all know, there is a big conspiracy theory about his place. Apparently everyone has been saying that Chucky Cheese reuses their left over pizzas."
"EWWW WHAT YOU DIDNT SAY THAT WAS WHY WE WERE EATING HERE!!"
Larry yelled out looking ready to throw up right then and there. This made me remember that Larry has severe stomach problems when it came to food and I felt bad. Fortunately the sympathy I felt went away as Isaac went over and grabbed Larry by the shoulders and shook him firmly.
"That's because we knew you wouldn't have agreed to come with us."
Larry crossed his arms and pouted but didn't say anything more as we made our way into the restaurant. Blake had held the door open for me and I thanked him with a slight blush on my cheeks which I scolded myself for.
I'm supposed to be hating him right now...
... but that's so hard to do.
I frowned and kept my head down so nobody would notice. We quickly got seated at a table with two large cups of coins being placed at the center. Immediately Tanner and Blake grabbed one each and took off towards the arcade area leaving all of us behind.
"They are such kids bro!"
Larry laughed but stood up and followed after them.
"He says that but he's literally the same height as all the kids here."
Isaac joked which causes me to huff in annoyance, drawing in his and Nick's attentions.
"I'm his height remember? I take offense to that statement."
"Good."
Isaac said tauntingly. My eyes widened slightly and I looked away with a cross of my arms. Nick went to say something but he got cut off as Blake came back seemingly out of breath.
"Hey, (Y/n)? Would you mind joining us- or me- at the arcade? You need a kid to be able to play any games and Tanner has claimed Larry as his 'son' since he looks like a kid."
Oh boy I can already tell what's coming.
"And seeing as your Larry's height I was thinking you could blend in as my kid and we could play games."
I rolled my eyes, opening my mouth to say no but Isaac beat me to it. "She'd love to!"
Blake eyes brightened and I glared at Isaac knowing exactly why he agreed for me. He was trying to play some sort of Cupid and I was not appreciating it. All Isaac did was shrug his shoulders and shoo me away. I grumbled as I stood up and followed Blake, leaving Nick to question Isaac about what was going on.
Once we got to the arcade Blake handed me a handful of coins which I shoved in my pocket, not in the mood to play anything. I didn't even want to be anywhere near Blake at the moment but life sure loved to see me in pain. I followed quietly behind Blake when he stopped suddenly in front of one of the machines. He put coins in the slot and got to playing and I pulled my phone out to keep myself entertained since I did not want to watch or even join him.
Blake seemed to hate this and grabbed my phone out of my hands leaving me looking at him dumbly. He waved the phone in the air as I jumped to try and get it back but failed miserably due to the height difference. After a while I gave up and narrowed my eyes as Blake put my phone into his pocket with a smug smirk.
"We're supposed to be playing arcade games (Y/n)."
I stuck my tongue out which caused him to laugh and grab my arm to pull me closer.
"Come onnn, pleaseee!"
Blake whined and I couldn't help but give in and put some coins in the slot which causes him to cheer. Only once when the game started did I realize what we were playing. Connect four. Seriously?
"This is like, the most boring game here dude."
I complained but Blake seemed not to hear as he contently placed his first chip down a column. With a sigh I followed suit and that's how we spent the next couple minutes, taking turns placing our chips until the words 'Red Wins!', was flashing on the screen. I didn't even notice he was that close already. I thought I had blocked off all his chips from making a row of four.
I looked over at him, my mouth hung open as he looked back at me smiling. In a swift movement, he had placed his hand under my chin and closed my mouth but for a second he held his hand there with his thumb on my cheek. I could tell he was going to say something but removed his hand and looked away so fast that I doubted myself. Maybe I was imagining things.
"Hey let's go over there and join Tanner and Larry! They're playing a racing game and there's two spots open!"
Blake didn't give me time to respond and interlinked his hand with mine and pulled me through the arcade. He then sat me down in of the chairs that was right next to Tanner. Blake took the spot open on my other side and put in coins which caused me to also.
When the game started Tanner looked over at me with an intense, almost murderous expression, and spoke quietly.
"Prepare to lose."
