"The fuck you want?"
I spat as soon as it registered in my brain that Nick was actually in my room. He was staring at my screen and then looked over at me in surprise when I spoke. His lips parted slightly and his eyebrows furrowed as he started to walk towards me.
I frowned and turned my head, just looking at him was making my blood boil. In an instant hands grabbed onto the back of my chair and swung it around. I was now face to face with Nick, his being inches from mine.
"I'm here to apologize."
I didn't buy it.
I rolled my eyes and went to turn my chair back to face my computer but Nick had a firm grasp and wasn't budging.
"I'm serious (Y/n), I want to apologize."
The sincerity in his voice forced my gaze to meet his and I almost cracked. Almost. Pressing my lips into a tight line I stared at him, waiting for him to continue.
"I'm a jerk, a big fat jerk. I never meant to hurt you (Y/n), all I ever want to do is protect you. When you and Blake disappeared I was scared. You're my best friend and I had no clue what was going on."
I opened my mouth but the look he shot me made me close it.
"And.. I was jealous... I love that you're getting along with my friends but I'm scared that eventually you'll replace me with one of them."
To say I was dumbfounded was an understatement. that was not what I was expecting to come out of his mouth, but it did make me think. Was he being honest?.. He had to be. I mean this is Nick we're talking about. Sure he can be stupid and.. a jerk like he said but he's still my best friend.
"You're really apologizing? No 'buts'?" I asked tentatively. He nodded, his face solemn and his eyes shinning with guilt.
"Say it."
He paused when I spoke again. Then he turned his head down so I was staring at his mop of curly dark hair. For a moment I was beginning to think I was wrong about his intentions and that he was lying again but when I was face to face with his.. well face.. My doubts were quickly washed away.
"I'm sorry (Y/n). Please forgive me."
I had to bite my lip to keep me from accepting his apology. I can't just forgive him so quickly. He made my life miserable for the past two weeks but.. He's being genuine and I know he knows he messed up.
An arm snaking around my waist broke me from my thoughts. I was pulled to my feet roughly before being crushed in a strong bear hug.
"Please (Y/n), I'm so sorry."
Nick's voice said through a whisper and I admit, I broke.
I wrapped my arms around his torso and nodded my head that was against his chest.
"I forgive you."
This caused Nick to tighten the hug and I had no protests. It felt nice to hug him again. Ignoring him felt like hell and I never want to go through that again.
Dammit I can't believe I forgave that quickly.
We stayed hugging each other for a while longer before I pulled away and stared at him pointedly.
"You better not pull that shit again Nick or I swear.."
He laughed sheepishly and rubbed the back of his neck. "I won't. I was a really dick.. I never want to hurt you again (Y/n)."
I smiled brightly and gave him another hug which he happily returned. I then started to shoo him out of my room, explaining I needed to get ready for bed. He left with no complaints, and left me alone in my room.
For a bit I stood there unsure what to do, sure I told Nick I was going to sleep but did I really want to? Suddenly the familiar sound of my headset's beeping alerted me to the battery getting low and I walked over to my pc. I froze when I realized Blake was still streaming and a giddy smile danced on my face before I sat back in my chair. Quickly I plugged my headset in and continued to watch the stream where I eventually fell asleep. That night, despite the awkward position I fell asleep in, I had one of the best sleeps I've ever had.
