Four years ago, Lagertha and Bjorn had left kattegat because of Ragnar betrayal of sleeping with Aslaug only for her to appear out of nowhere pregnant with his child. Ragnar and Freya was forced to move on with their lives without them and even though Freya was angry with Bjorn she didn't blame him for wanting to go with his mother not wanting her to be alone as Bjorn knew his father would be just fine with Freya as the two of them were always together whether it was joking around or training together.
Freya didn't like to consider herself as somebody that clung onto memories but it's what makes it so special about it with the people that you meet and the friendships that she'll make that will last a lifetime. Freya was a lot of things but a good friend is one of them as once Bjorn was gone she befriended Yelena and the two have been inseparable since you would hardly ever see them not together and many people was envious of their friendship especially because of Freya the blonde girl wasn't a servant, she was a free women.
Over the years, Ragnar had slowly started to break down as he found himself no longer happy like he used to be when he was when he was with Lagertha, Bjorn, Gyda and Freya. It was clear he didn't hold any love Aslaug but the only real happiness he had was with the time he spent with his daughter, Freya as she was the one who filled the void in his heart after the heartbreak he went through from Lagertha and Bjorn leaving.
Freya was the light in his life without her it would of just been filled with darkness and self loathing, he watched her grow up to the beautiful girl now and helped train her to be the best shield maiden there is and knew that she would be known in the world for being the greatest one to ever live. Overall, things have been relatively calm for the past four years. Ragnar had two sons, Ubbe and Hvitserk, Aslaug was current pregnant with her third child and sooner or later things are going to change but would it be for the better of the worse.
Freya was in the courtyard with Yelena as she held an mischievous grin on her face making a snowball making the blonde girl squeal loudly as Freya threw the snowball at her making the people who was watching the two girls laugh loudly in amusement with the girls antics as Gerald and Ronan smirk watching the two girls before deciding to join in.
Yelena and Freya squealed loudly trying to find somewhere to hide as they continued throwing snowballs at one another when the auburn haired girl gasped in shock when Ronan threw a snowball hitting her in the face causing her to narrow her eyes at him with a determined expression making multiple of snowballs before throwing them at him only for to him fall in the snow bringing Gerald with him.
Freya giggled doing a handshake with Yelena that they made up when they were twelve years old with the blonde laughing as she recalled all the memories she had since she's arrived at kattegat, " it wasn't so long ago that we were talking about our first kisses and pranking Ragnar. Now we are at the age where we'll be looking for a suitor" Yelena teased wrapping her arm around Freya shoulder.
