Chapter 23

So me and Steve went to the Dairy Queen and I said "I can't believe he did this to me" and Steve said "it's ok I know something that will make it all better" and then he leaned in to kiss me and I backed away and said "Steve I'm sorry I can't do this." Then I got up and ran back to the Curtis house crying. When I walked in to the house the gang was there and Leslie and Joarely were there too and I just ran to my room and cried on my bed. Then I heard my door crack open and I turned and saw Leslie and Joarely. Then they came up to me and said "Kaley what's wrong what happened" and then I told about Dally asking me to marry him and then him cheating on me and the whole Evie thing and the whole Steve thing. Then they both gave me a hug and Joarely said "I'm going to make sure that Evie pays for what she did to you" and then she left but Leslie stayed. Then Leslie asked me "so do you like Dally more or Steve" and I said "I don't like Dally I love him honestly I could care less about Steve I mean we're just friends and that's all I want us to be." Then we went down stairs and I saw Dally all beat up on the couch and I screamed "oh my gosh Dally what the heck happened to you" and Soda said "he got in to a fight with some Soc because they were talking bad about you" and right then and there I knew exactly who it was that started it. Then I kissed Dally on the cheek and whispered to him "I still love and I'm not mad" and then he handed me the ring that he gave me when he asked me to marry him and I put it on and left with Leslie following me. Then I called Joarely and told her what happened and we met her by the dingo and then went to Buck's party because I knew that it was exactly were Evie would be. When walked in I saw her by the bar and I walked up to her and said "look if want to talk crap about me then why don't you come say it to my face instead of beating up my fiancé" and then she said in an innocent voice "what I don't know what your talking about I would never do that." I slapped her really hard and said "Don't play that stupid innocent crap with me cause we all know here that your stupid and a slut so maybe best time you want to talk crap about me or any of my friends you better grab a mirror and say it to yourself." After that me, Leslie, and Joarely all walked out of Buck's party and back to the Curtis house. When we walked in I saw Dally sitting up on the couch and I walked up behind and put my hands on his eyes so he couldn't see and whispered in his ear "guess who it is" and he said "is that my fiancé" and I smiled and took my hands away from his eyes and said "yes it is" and kissed him on the cheek. Then Joarely went and sat next to Sodapop and they started talking and laughing and Leslie went over by Ponyboy and started talking they were so cute. Then Dally said "aren't you going to sit down" and I said yes and sat on his lap and he hugged me. Then when Two-bit and Johnny walked in and they sat down and me, Leslie, and Joarely told them all what happened at Buck's and what I said to Evie. Then they all started clapping and cheering. Dally was smiling at me and he said " I love you and I will never let anything get in between us ever" and I said "I love you too and me to."
