Chapter 24

I went outside and the gang did too and we decided to play football. Me, Ponyboy, Leslie, Joarely, and Dally were on one team and Two-bit, Sodapop, Johnny, Darry, and Steve were on the other team. I had the ball and was about to throw it when Sodapop tackled me and we started laughing and I playfully punched him in the arm and then he helped me up and took the ball and ran and I ran after him and jumped on his back and he tripped and fell to the ground and then everybody including us were laughing. Then we all took a break for a little while. So I went to go talk to Leslie and Joarely when I saw a girl walking up to us and it was Evie. My blood started boiling and I screamed "I thought I told you to leave my fiancé alone" and she said "I'm not here for your fiancé" and I said "who the heck are you for then." Then she walked up to Sodapop and stated flirting with him and Ponyboy stopped her and she pulled out a gun and I ran in front of Ponyboy and she fired and then everything went black.
Dally's P.O.V
Once I saw Evie shoot I ran over to kaley and said "what the heck your an evil little bastard" to Evie and I was about to punch her when I felt someone pull me back, I turned and saw Leslie and she said "don't do this Dally you know it's not worth it." Then I stopped and picked up Kaley and ran to the hospital. The gang came and sat in the waiting room as I paced back and forth worrying about Kaley. Then the nurse came in and said "Mr. Winston you may see your fiancé now" and I ran into her hospital room. Kaley was awake in her hospital bed and ran to her and hugged her. Then I said "when you get out of the hospital I have a surprise for you" and she said "what is it" I smiled and said "I can't tell you because then it won't be a surprise." Then she scooted over and left some room in her hospital and motioned me to come lay with her so I did. We started to fall asleep and I put my arm around her waist and she put her head on my chest and then we fell asleep.
