Freminet finally stopped panicking. He stopped moving. He just sunk. Gave himself up to the ocean's deadly grasp. He couldn't swim just yet, he barely passed the toddler swimming lessons not too long ago. The choppy waves were like music to his ears, comforting in a way...like it was trying to distract the 4 year old that he was dying. Slowly...he closed his eyes, knowing that oxygen was running out and he couldn't hold his breath much longer.
Suddenly, he awoke. Not in the water. But in the local hospital. He slowly turned his head form side-to-side, trying to find anyone familiar...however, to no avail. He shut his eyes again, hoping that it was all just an extremely bad dream...that he'd wake up in a cold sweat and be comforted by Lynette's kind words and Lyney's warm cuddles.
Everything felt sore...his throat hurt and his lungs were in agony. His eyesight was terrible too, everything looked blurry, but that may just go away with time. He turned over to face the giant window, he always enjoyed the view...it was a view of all of Fontaine, even the Opera House. He loved watching the water outside go up and down, it was calming but it now reminded him of what happened.
He struggled to hold in his tears, his chin wobbling slightly. He lifted up the blanket to his nose, hoping to conceal the sound of his cries as to not worry anyone. Soon enough, he gave up...letting the tears finally escape his eyes, they all rushed out and landed on the hospital blanket. His entire body was shaking and he was sniffling uncontrollably, 'what would big brother and big sister think? They must be very, very worried...' he thought, making the tears flow out even faster. The thought of big brother and big sister upset and worried filled him with anxiety, he doesn't like seeing anyone upset, even Lyney and Lynette. He was so involved in his thoughts that he didn't even hear the curtain be violently pulled to one side...

"Fremi...Fremi, please look at me". Slowly, Freminet turned around to lie on his back. Making eye contact with Lyney in the process. Unexpectedly, Lyney pulled him into a tight hug, Freminet could hear his breathing...it was rough... uncontrollable...like he ran directly from Mondstadt to see him. After a long silence, Lynette spoke "Lyney, you're going to make him worse if you hug him that tightly", her voice was more gentle than anything, usually she spoke very sternly towards her twin. Lyney just shook his head, still maintaining a harsh grip on Freminet, scared to let him go.
With a sigh, Lynette walked over from the open curtain and carefully tore Lyney off of Freminet. "B...big brot-", Freminet started before Lynette put a finger to his lips, "don't speak, your throat is damaged enough already, just relax", Freminet nodded and let Lynette lay him back on the bed. Freminet kept his eyes on his older brother and sister, scared to look away from them, they both looked like they haven't slept properly in days. Eyebags were visible on both their faces, Lyney's face was all red and tear stains could be easily seen drying on his cheeks, like he's just been crying.
Lynette was calm... though you can tell that she was also worried. However, she always keeps her composure in bad situations, she keeps her emotions skillfully hidden underneath her poker face. Soon enough, he found himself tugging on Lynette's sleeve, clearly he looked confused as Lynette glanced over at Lyney before speaking. "Freminet...you've been asleep for over 3 months, you were rescued by a group of sailors and was transported over to this hospital. Me and Lyney were informed through those same sailors and...well...Lyney...", her voice trailed off, giving Lyney a sympathetic look.
'3 months...3 months...', was all he could think about. He missed out on 3 months...the worst 3 months ever for his siblings, it hit them hard. Especially Lyney, he looked like a shell of his past self, sleepless and stressed. Lyney slowly struggled to compose himself, but he eventually got himself to stop crying...for now. Lyney looked over at his baby brother, attached to all these tubes and wires, and those tubes and wires were attached to all these machines. He felt like such a failure of a brother, he is meant to protect him, not let him put himself in danger.
He was pulled out his thoughts when Lynette placed her hand on his shoulder, he turned around to face her. Silently, she pointed over to Freminet, who had his arms out... beckoning him to give him a cuddle. His eyes were shining, like he was going to cry, his body was shaking...he was scared, he didn't understand what was happening...or even how severe the situation was. He was just a 4 year old...dragged into this predicament against his own will.
Lyney slowly walked over to his brother, who was still shaking uncontrollably. He sat down on the bed and wrapped both arms around his stomach, pulling him close, slowly his one of his hands travelled to his hair...stroking it. It was like his baby brother was a cat, his hair was so soft, Freminet's breathing noticeably steadied and he slowly stopped shaking. "You're alright now... you're with big brother now... there's nothing to be afraid of now", he whispered to his 4 year old brother, whose head was leaning on his shirt.
He looked at Lynette with a mixture of anger and relief. Lynette returned the look, whilst walking over and closing the curtain that surrounded the siblings. Lyney looked down at his baby brother, now fully asleep on his chest, he slowly retracted from the hug and laid him back on the hospital bed, careful to not wake up the poor boy. Lynette walked over and stood bedside him, watching Freminet's chest slowly rise up and down in a healthy rhythm, she turned her attention to Lyney.
Lyney's eyes burned with anger. He turned around to meet Lynette's eyes and whispered "I will find who did this. I will make this person's life a living hell. Nobody hurts Fremi and gets away with it". With every sentence he said, Lynette could see more and more anger building up. She turned to face the giant window, watching the sun setting outside, painting the sky a gorgeous red, orange, and pink. "So Lyney...how do we go about telling him this than?", she asked, putting on her best confused face.
The question was ultimately met with a sigh and silence from the boy. Clearly, he didn't know how to approach this topic on how to tell Freminet. Slowly, he turned Lynette's face to face his before answering her question, "we'll tell him when he's ready, I won't keep this a secret".
Especially with the fact that it wasn't Freminet's fault.
Someone took him and tried to drown him at sea...
And his older siblings will make sure that it won't ever happen again...
Even if it costs them their lives.
