Hyeras PoV :
Returning home has evoked a rush of childhood memories, and the wave of nostalgia sweeps over me each time I come across items from my past while assisting my mother in her packing endeavors. Growing up, I lacked a fatherly presence, as my mother went through a series of short-lived relationships with other men. Perhaps that's where I inherited my tendencies.
The process of preparing the house for sale has nearly reached its end, and the realization that my childhood home will be sold soon. The house, aging and in a state of neglect, seems an unlikely for someone to purchase. Yet, my contemplation revolves around whether or not I should confide in my mother about Minjae. Given her lack of support and her tendency to critique my clothes for being too revealing, I'm uncertain about her reaction to my intimate relationship with another woman.
"Hyera darling, your meal is ready," my mother's voice echoes from downstairs, drawing my attention. I rise from the bed, which is very small, given that I've long outgrown it. Retrieving my phone, I make my way downstairs.
"Hyera! How many times have I told you to dress more modestly?" my mother begins to admonish me immediately. I glance at my attire, comprising a tank top and shorts, and struggle to comprehend how it's considered provocative.
"You must dress appropriately if you ever wish to find a suitable partner! It's no wonder you've remained single for so long," she continues her commentary that I've grown accustomed to tuning out.
Ignoring her remarks, I take a seat and find a plate of home-cooked food awaiting me. The joys of indulging in my mother's culinary skills are not lost on me, and her efforts to ensure I eat well reminds me about Minjae reminding me to eat before I left.
Speaking of Minjae, I open my phone to find several missed calls from her, which occurred while I was packing the day before. Before I can return her call, my mother snatches the phone from my grasp. "No phones at the table, dear," she insists, stuffing my phone in a drawer before I can protest.
I push my food around on the plate, knowing that morning meals aren't my usual routine. my mother had left to her bedroom giving me a chance to grab my phone, I rise to retrieve my phone, intending to step onto the porch and call Minjae.
"Good morning, Hy. Up bright and early, I see," Minjae's voice, tinged with morning grogginess, causing me to giggle.
"Hey, sleepyhead. How has life been in my absence?" I inquire playfully.
"Absolutely dreadful without you. When are you finally coming back? I miss you terribly," she complained.
"I'll be back home tomorrow. We're almost done here. Is everything alright?" I reassure her.
"It's that Na-Yung girl... She's been nothing but a nuisance," Minjae states, her voice carrying a note of hesitation.
"What's she done now?" I inquire, already suspecting that Na-Yung is up to her usual mischief.
"Minji texted you last night. I really don't feel like explaining," she responds, her tone growing quieter.
With Minjae on speaker, I take a moment to view the message she sent:

My eyes widen as I watch the video—a clip of Minji being shoved to the ground by the same lunatic who managed to drench Minjae with water.
"What were you doing with Minji?" I ask, my shock palpable.
"She was trying to cheer me up... After Na-Yung confronted me in the restroom," Minjae sighs.
"Why is Na-Yung even at our school? She doesn't even go there" I vent in frustration.
"She pulled a number of stunts before leaving, but the school didn't do shit" Minjae explains.
