Hyeras pov :

I returned to my apartment earlier than expected, eager to surprise Minjae and let her know she no longer had to worry about Na-Yung. However, upon knocking, there was no response. With my phone dead, I couldn't confirm if Minjae was home. I utilized my keys to unlock the door and was met with an empty apartment. Perhaps she was out with friends?

I placed my suitcase down and settled onto the bed, which felt oddly desolate. Observing her side of the bed, I noticed the disheveled sheets, in contrast to my neatly made side. As my phone regained some charge, I dialed Minjae's number, only to hear the ringing emanating from the kitchen. This struck me as peculiar.

Upon entering the kitchen, I discovered her phone left on the counter, accompanied by a shattered wine glass on the floor. My mind raced with concern and confusion. Worrisome thoughts flooded my mind. Was Minjae alright? Had something unfortunate occurred? Anxiety began to consume me.

Suddenly, the door creaked open, prompting a jolt of fear. Peering down the hallway, I spotted Minjae's entering. A relieved exhale escaped me, and I emerged from the kitchen, startling her due to her unexpected discovery of my presence. "Hyera! Why would you startle me like that!" she exclaimed. "It wasn't intentional," I chuckled, drawing closer to bring her in a hug.

"I wasn't aware you'd return tonight" she admitted, somewhat hesitantly accepting the hug. "Well I thought it would be a nice surprise," I beamed, placing a gentle kiss on her cheek.

Regarding the shattered glass, I questioned, gesturing towards the mess. "Oh, I accidentally dropped it, and while attempting to clean up, I managed to cut my hand," she explained, displaying the minor cut across her finger, its bleeding evident.

"You should tend to that" I urged, gently holding her hand to inspect it closely. "I was going to,but,I couldn't find any paper towels to manage the spill and glass" she sighed. I couldn't help but chuckle. "No, I meant your hand," I clarified, leading her to the bathroom to apply a bandage.

"I'll clean up the kitchen," I offered with a warm smile, sealing the sentiment with a tender kiss. However, She didn't seem excited to see me, which was concerning me.

Despite my efforts to lighten the situation, Minjae's demeanor remained less than thrilled. It puzzled me, as I had hoped my surprise would be met with excitement. As I worked on cleaning up the kitchen, the tension in the air lingered, and I couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss.

Once the mess was tidied, I joined Minjae in the bedroom. She was sitting on the bed. I took a seat beside her, giving her a concerned look. "Minjae, is everything alright?" I inquired gently.

She let out a sigh, her gaze fixated on her hands. "It's just... I didn't expect you to be back so soon, and with everything that's been going on, I guess I've been feeling a bit overwhelmed," she admitted, her voice tinged with vulnerability.

I leaned in, giving her a gentle kiss on the forehead. "You don't have to carry everything on your own. You don't have to worry about Na-Yung anymore either" I reminded her, my tone filled with sincerity.

A small smile tugged at the corners of her lips. "Why what did you do?" she whispered, her hand finding mine.

"Let's just say we won't see her in a very long time," I said, my gaze never leaving hers.

A smile drew across her face "what did you do?" She pulled me into bed covering me under the sheets.

I explained every detail to her, joking about her reaction, cheering Minjae up.

"I didn't think you would do that for me" she chuckled, giving me a tender kiss.

I inquired, confused by her statement. "You didn't say I love you back" she sighed.
I suspect this might be why Minjae appeared uneasy when seeing me. I responded with a smile before affirming, "I do love you." Her eyes brightened upon hearing my words. "Truly?" she inquired, giggling pulling me into an aggressive hug and taking a dominant position. "Yes, Minjae. I love you," I retorted playfully as she straddled herself on top of me. "Is Hyera allowing herself to be vulnerable?" she playfully teased. "Please, enough," I laughed, placing my hands gently on her waist. We were now entangled in the bedsheets, positioned closely. her lips planted delicate kisses on my neck. "Remember, I just returned," I reminded her, though she continued her affectionate gestures. "But I've yearned for you so deeply," she teased, maintaining her affectionate assault on my neck. Her reply made me flustered, causing my cheeks to turn red.

Observing my embarrassment, she intensified it, her hands sliding under my shirt as she kissed me. I cupped her face, allowing a smile to grace my lips. Before things could progress any further, a knock at the door diverted our attention.

"Expecting a visitor?" I questioned which she nodded no, adjusting my shirt to answer the door. To my surprise, it was... Blondie? "Delivery for... Minjae?" she blurted, recognizing me. "Ah, the paper towels," Minjae chuckled remembering, joining me by the door, and seemingly realizing her ex stood on the other side. "I wasn't aware you were into delivering now," she remarked, surprised. "Had to take up extra shifts for the apartment we acquired," she retorted, emphasizing 'we', eliciting an eye roll from Minjae. I grabbed the paper towels from her hands and closed the door in her face.

"You do realize there are alternative cleaning options aside from paper towels, right?" I chuckled, placing the towels in the kitchen. "It's just more convenient," she giggled. "More convenient than encountering your ex?" I playfully teased, receiving a playful nudge on my shoulder. Suddenly, a thud against the door caught our attention. "Who could it be now?" I groaned, making my way to the door to open it. A spray paint bottle rolled across the floor. She had spray-painted 'Slut' on my door. I glanced at Minjae, raising an eyebrow. "I wasn't aware she was this immature, who the fuck just carries around spray paint" I sighed, touching the paint to assess its dryness. "I'll clean it in the morning," I groaned, leading Minjae to bed. "I missed you so much, I can't be concerned about it right now" I expressed, bringing her back to bed, tenderly kissing her, "you must be tired babe" she chuckled, returning another kiss. "You have no idea" I said, resting my head on her chest eventually falling asleep.
