She tugged on my thin hand, pulling me through the halls, and finally we came to a door. She opened it and we quickly walked in. It was a room with three leather couches, a flat screen TV that hung on the wall, endless amount of books on a shelf, and games everywhere. There were seven people in the room.

"This is our hangout room" Riley gestured around, and I knew she meant it was the cancer patients hang out spot. We walked over to two girls, around the ages 14, playing cards at a table.

"Girls, this is Winter, she's a new patient here." The girls looked up at me with smiling eyes. One wore a pink bandana over her head and the other had just enough of her blonde hair for a pony tail.

The blonde said, "I'm Olivia. This is Bailey" She said gesturing to the other girl.

"Hi." I said, smiling at the girls.

We then walked over to two young boys and a girl, all around 7, playing a video game.

"Hey, guys, I have someone I want you to meet." They didn't even respond, intent on their race car game.

"Can you pause the game for a sec? Guys?" Neither boy commented but the little girl sighed and stopped it.

"HEY" The boys protested.

"This is Winter. She is new" All three kids looked up. The boys muttered a hi  and the girl smiled and waved, and they returned to their game. Riley sighed but a smile was on her face.

"This is Ace, Dan, and Lilly." She said gesturing to the three.

We walked over to two more boys, around our age. Riley immediately went to the one with blonde hair. They locked hands, and the boy kissed her forehead in a way that told me they were deeply in love.

Riley blushed and said, "This is my boyfriend Chris. And that" She nodded to the boy beside Chris "Is Noah." I looked up to see startling violet eyes. I had never seen such beautiful eyes-ever. He wore a blue baseball cap but I could see jet black air sticking out. For some reason he was glaring at me, the saying 'if looks could kill' popped into my head, and a startled gasp escaped my lips. He brushed past me and stormed out.

"What's wrong with him?" Riley asked Chris. He shrugged his slim shoulders. "I don't know. He was fine a few seconds ago..." I had a feeling it was me that was wrong with him but I shrugged it off-I didn't do anything to him. Riley stood on her tip toes to kiss Chris and I felt that was my cue to leave.

I slipped out of the room silently and as I walked back to my room I couldn't help but to think of those unsettling violet eyes glaring at me. He was one of the most handsome guys I had ever seen and I was baffled he was here. He didn't look like a cancer patient. He was tall and had a muscular build, he had his hair, and his skin didn't have that pasty white tint like the rest of us did. I shrugged it off and collapsed on my bed. Who knew walking down the hall and meeting a few new people could drain so much energy?
