My mom was sitting next to me, and was absent minded drawing circles with her fingers on my arm, raising goose bumps on it. I looked at my father who was just staring at the ground but I could tell his mind was elsewhere. I looked over to see Jake texting on his phone and I was glad to see him doing something normal again. It had been a week and a half since my right kidney had gotten taken out, and I was finally getting my energy back slowly. I was supposed to start a new treatment soon and I shuddered from the painful memories at the last ones.  The door opening pulled me out of my reverie, and I glanced up to see Noah walking in. His black hair was growing in again and his self being all together looked healthier. He wore black jeans, vans, and a plain white t-shirt. I smiled at my gorgeous boyfriend and he smiled also, giving me a shy wave. Apparently my family had something better to do because they all jumped up at once, muttered goodbyes, and left the room immediately.

Noah came over and crawled into bed with me and I rested my head on his wide shoulder, inhaling his sweet scent deeply, storing it in my memory.

He took a deep breath, "I'm cured, Winter...I'm getting out of here." I smiled and lifted my head so I could look deep into his violet eyes, momentarily losing all thoughts, because I was so mesmerized by them. But what I saw surprised me, he looked sad...or was it anger I saw?

"Noah, that's great! Why aren't you ecstatic right now?!"

"How could I be ecstatic if I'm healed and you're not? I want to stay here with you." I shook my head, touching the tip of his perfect nose with my pointer finger.

"That's crazy, Noah. I want you to live a normal teenage life!"

"If it's not with you, I don't want any of it. I want to stay with you, until you are cured also." He looked at me with burning eyes.

"You can't wait around for me. You need to live a normal life. Please, do it for me." Tears rolled down my pale  face and Noah leaned down and kissed my tears streaked cheek. I leaned my head back down on his shoulder and he rubbed my back soothingly.

"I love you, Noah. Never forget that."

"I love you, Winter, more than you could ever possibly know."
