I aimlessly wandered to the garden where I had spent time with Noah. A sudden thought popped into my head...today was Friday, Chris and Riley's anniversary. She died on the day she would celebrate her love for Chris. I shook my head sadly. I made my way to the bench and stared vacantly. All the leaves had fallen from the oak tree, crumbled at the frosty ground. The leaves died...just like Riley. The word Gone was etched into my head. Gone. Gone. Gone. She couldn't be, she was my best friend. I sat on the ground and pulled my knees up to my chest and cried.

I wasn't sure how long I was crying for but I felt someone sit down next to me and wrap their warm arms around me. I looked up expecting Riley to yell 'Just kidding', or something, but it wasn't her. It was Noah. I hadn't realized how much I missed those unique violet eyes. I hugged him tightly and cried on his shoulder.

"She's gone. Riley is gone, Noah,  And she is never coming back." He stopped and grasped my shoulders, pulling me away from his shoulder.

He looked at me with sharp eyes, "No. She's not gone, Winter." My eyes began to water even more, he must not know the news yet.

"She is...I just saw her mother. She's dead and she's not coming back." I sobbed. Noah cupped each side of my face gingerly.

"Yes, she's dead" He stated. I felt like a weight had dropped in my gut, it was even worse when someone else said she was dead.

"Then why did you tell m"- He shushed me.

"But she is not gone. She will always be in our hearts, Winter. We couldn't get rid of that girl if we wanted to." he said with a sad smile. And it seemed his words were so true. It felt as though her never ending love was wrapped all around us. She would always be looking over us.
