Chapter 1: Next Generation

　

A few years have passed by since the twins were born, Masen was about 13 and the twins were 12, they were all starting school this year. Addison was even older now, she was going to school on the reserve though. We have all been laying low for the past couple years so we didn't have to move or attend high school again. We should have put the kids in school already but we wanted to wait until they were older so it wasn't to much on them as well as us, people would be seeing us a lot when we took them to school and stuff so since we don't age we wanted to keep out of sight as much as we could. Masen was a cutie pie he had dark hair and green eyes, he was thin and tall much like Sarah. Anthony looked just like Jacob, he was tall and broad. He had dark skin, hair and eyes. Rosemary on the other hand was light colored like Renesmee, she had brown hair and big brown eyes. Her hair was even curly like Renesmee's. She looked like her twin. It was funny cause the twins looked nothing alike, but they were alike in their personalities to an extent. Both were stubborn like Jacob and loving like Renesmee. We loved having them around.

Even Leah was happy, she had finally made peace with the fact that she would never have children and she has accepted this and moved on. She even started seeing one of the other tribe members, he isn't a wolf so it works out well for her. Mom and Phil have been traveling with the ball team and Rosalie and Emmett when on a second honeymoon, even though it is like a fifth honeymoon for them. Alice and Jasper went around the world and they just got back. And then there is Samuel and Jane. After Jane lost her ability her and Samuel decided to work things out, she was a normal vampire now and didn't have the responsibility that Aro was burdoning her with. She was actually happy now. They lived just outside of town, she was still having some trouble adjusting to the vegitarian diet. But she was trying, her and Samuel went to stay with Tanya for awhile until they got better at it.

So here we were getting ready to take Masen, Rosemary and Anthony to school for the first time. Masen was the only Cullen cause Rosemary and Anthony's last name was Black so it would be easier cause Jacob never went to Forks School, and to have one Cullen really wasn't that strange. At least it wasn't like when I started and there was like three of them and two Hales. So it should all work out for the best this way. At first Jacob wanted them to go to the reserve but then he decided that since Masen would be alone in the school the twins would be better off going with him to make things alittle easier. He would at least have two friends to talk to.

"Do you really thing they are ready?" Renesmee asked as we all sat around talking.

"Yes," Carlisle said "I think they will be fine."

"I hope so." Renesmee replied with an uncertain tone. I could tell she was worried, but if Carlisle was sure they were ready then they were. He has never steered us wrong before.

Sarah and Seth came over, Sarah wanted to see Masen before his big day tomorrow. Masen knew about Sarah being his mom and about us being vampires, he knew why he was with Esme and Carlisle as well. He has accepted it cause of all the love they give him and Sarah is a big part of his life so it makes him happy to have two moms. Esme, Sarah, Renesmee, Alice and Rosalie took the twins and Masen shopping for school clothes and supplies. Of course Alice and Rosalie got them enough outfits so they never had to wear the same thing twice. But at least this time they got normal clothes like jeans and shirts, not all fancy stuff like they have in the past.

The kids were all excited about going to school, they think it will be cool making new friends and what not. We have explained to them several times that they can't tell the secret about us nor about Rosemary's gift. Anthony and Masen have vowed to protect Rosemary from anyone finding out about what she can do. Renesmee and Jacob were staying at Carlisle's with the twins so they could get up and stuff with Masen. As it started getting late Renesmee and Esme put the kids to bed, they all had an early morning so they went to bed early. After they were in bed Esme and Renesmee came downstairs, Esme sat beside Carlisle on the couch and Renesmee sat beside Jacob by the window.

Edward and I sat near the piano, he played softly as I sat beside him. "Do you think it is the right thing?" I whispered in his ear.

"Do I think what is the right thing?" he asked.

"You know," I said "Sending the twins and Masen to public school. Do you really think it is safe?"

"I'm sure it will be fine." he replied as he leaned and kissed me.

"But what if they slip up and tell about us?" I was worried about this, I mean they were only 6 and 7. And kids say thngs without realizing it.

"It will be fine." he assured me as he kissed me again.

As we sat there Renesmee and Jacob got up and went to bed. Rosalie, Emmett, Alice and Jasper all went hunting so it was just Edward, Carlisle, Esme and myself awake in the house. Carlisle went ot his study, Esme started packing the kids lunches for tomorrow, Edward continued to play the piano and I sat beside him thinking about what would happen tomorrow.
