Chapter 5: Learning New Things

　

ANTHONY'S POV

　

This camping trip has been alot of fun, I spent yesterday bonding with Masen and dad. Emmett and Jasper were with us as well but since they don't eat it wasn't the same as the time I spent fishing with dad and Masen. I have been learning alot, dad even phased for the first time in front of me. It was so cool, he wanted me to see what he really was. I wish I could do what he does. Today Grandpa and Grandad was going along with us, Grandma was going to be teaching Rosemary how to accept her powers. I was excited for today, we were going hunting. Vampire and wolf style. It was going to be great. The wolf pack went on home to do some wolf stuff I guess. I thought it was cool how they were all in a pack.

Once everyone was up and ready we headed out into the woods, Emmett, Jasper, Grandpa and Greandad all went hunting their style. It was interesting watching them, dad on the other hand took Masen and myself hunting like humans do. He was teaching us to shoot animals with a bow and an arrow. It was rather fun as well, but I was wanting to see him do it in his wolf form. I didn't want to push the issue to much but I was really curious as to how it all worked. I know not everyone can do it, dad couldn't do it at first but then it hit him.

While we were out hunting Masen went off with Grandpa and Grandad, he was curious as to how they track and hunt. Even though he was full human it facinated him being around vampires. I took this time to talk to dad.

"Dad?" I said as we were tracking through the woods.

"Yeah?" he asked.

"I was wondering," I said hesitating a bit.

He stopped and looked at me. "What is it son?" he asked.

"Well," I replied. "I was wondering about the whole wolf thing."

He looked at me alittle puzzled. "What about it?" he asked.

"What's it like?" I asked curiously.

"It is odd." he said. "When your in wolf form your mind is linked to all the others as long as they are in wolf form as well."

"It sounds cool." I said excitedly.

"It can be cool." he replied "And it can be annoying. You can never have a secret cause they can see all your thoughts when your linked together. But it is also a great bond."

We continued to walk as dad talked about how he became one of them. "Do you think I will be one?" I asked.

Dad stopped and looked at me. "Well," he said "You do have the same number of chromozones as me so it is possible."

"Really?" I asked excited. "How would I know?"

He just laughed. "Oh you will know." he replied "Trust me, you will be the first one to know if it was to happen."

We then headed back to camp, I couldn't help but think about everything dad had said. Maybe I would be one of them, maybe I would have a awsome ability. How great would it be to turn into a wolf.

　

　

ROSEMARY'S POV

　

　

Yesterday I spent all day learning how to control my power, apparently just because I touch someone doesn't mean I have to show them anything. The biggest helper was mom, she showed me that with self control I can touch people without revealing anything. She touches people and they don't see anything unless she frees her mind and lets them see her thoughts. I thought that was really cool. Jasper and Grandpa on the other hand have a harder time keeping their power quiet, others don't see it but they can't just shut theirs off. And then there is Alice who sees the visions, she can't control when they happen but she can search for visions so that is a good control. Grandma didn't teach me anything about her power but I know from what my mom said that she learned to control hers with the help of another vampire. She didn't even know she had a power until the women found it out. He power is cool she can shield anyone from mental attacks. I think it is really interesting. I hope she teaches me some about it as well. Grandma is teaching me how to accept myself, it's not that I don't accept myself I just felt bad cause I thought I would always show my power with every touch. Now I know it don't have to be that way.

"Are you ready?" Grandma asked as she walked towards me smiling.

"Yes." I replied smiling back. Then we went for a walk.

As we walked it was quiet, neither of us said anything at first. "So," grandma said. "Did you have fun with all you learned yesterday?"

"Yes," I replied "It helped alot."

"Thant's good." she replied. "I know I won't really help any. You needed the control more then the acceptance. Am I right?"

I just looked at her, how did she know? "Um, Well." I said.

she just laughed. "It's ok," she said "I knew once I seen you yesterday what you really needed. But I thought we could go for a walk and talk if you would like?"

"Of course." I said smiling. So we continued to walk and talk.

"So," I said "Tell me about your power."

"Well," she said "I didn't know I had one. When I was human I was the only person who Edward couldn't hear. He always wondered what I was thinking and why he could not hear me. When I became a vampire a few people thought my power was extreme self control. Until another vampire Zaferina came and she helped me learn that my mind was a shield."

"Wow, really?" I said. It was so interesting learning about grandma. I heard stories about how she was and stuff but to hear it from her was amazing.

"Yes," she said with a smile. "I am unique, as human and vampire. Or at least that is what your grandpa says." then she laughed.

Her laugh made me laugh, then we were laughing together. It was such a great time. As it got later we headed back to camp.

　

　

BELLA'S POV

　

　

Today has turned out to be a good day, I knew after yesterday that Rosemary didn't need me to teach her acceptance. She needed to learn control. So I think she feels better about herself. We did have a good walk and talk though, she was curious about my power so I told her the story about it. We talked for hours before heading back to camp. This weekend had really been a good idea. Once it was daylight we packed up and headed back home, we really weren't to far away so it didn't take long. The kids had a day to relax before heading back to school tomorrow morning. I think after the trip Rosemary will be happier about who she is.

The kids went and played while we all sat around, it was like any other typical day, Esme was cooking, Carlisle was reading Rosalie and Alice were talking about fashion, Emmett and Jasper were watching a game and Edward and I sat on the couch cuddled up together. Renesmee and Jacob went out for awhile to do some shopping. The twins birthday was coming up, thankfully everyone was focused on them instead of me. after a couple years they seemed to forget it was my birthday too, which was fine by me. Well everyone except edward, he always remembered and did something special just for the two of us. It was rather sweet.

As the day turned to night the kids ate then went to bed, they had to get up and go to school tomorrow so they always went to bed when it got dark. Sometimes I missed sleeping, atleast when you sleep the days go by faster. But I would not trade my new life for anything.
