Chapter 3: Out of Place

　

BELLA'S POV

After we picked the kids up we headed home. Masen and Anthony seem happy and excited about school, but Rosmary didn't seem to share their excitement. I wonder what happened. Maybe Edward could find out, even though I didn;t like when he read other peoples minds. Somtimes it was necessary to get the truth. Once we got home we headed inside, Esme had dinner ready so the kids and Renesmee went to eat. Jacob was already there, he gave the twins a kiss on the head and then kissed Renesmee and they all sat down to eat.

I walked over and sat beside Edward. "What's wrong?" he whispered in my ear as he kissed my cheek. Even though he couldn't read my mind he always knew when something was bothering me.

"It's Rosmary," I said "She don't seem happy about school but I don't know why." Edward smiled then kissed me.

"I will find out." he said with a grin, he just loved using his ability, it made him feel special I think. But he only uses it when he needs to now. Not like before when he did it to just do it.

After they ate dinner the kids went upstairs to do their homework, Edward and I decided to go hunting, he wanted to tell me what he heard in Rosmary's mind but he didn't want the others to hear. So we headed out to the woods.

"Well?" I asked once we were far enough from the house.

"She feels different." He replied.

"Well, she is." I said looking confused.

"Yes, I know." he said with a chuckle. "But she feels even more different then that, sort of the way you were."

"Oh," I said still confused "So she feels she don't fit in like Anthony and Masen are fitting in?"

"Exactly." he said "She knows how much different she is from them and even more different then the other kids. She feels akward in the situation."

"Should we take her out?" I asked.

"No," he replied "She wants to be there but she is afraid of people treating her different. She don't want to leave, she just wants to feel welcomed."

It was silent the rest of the time, I was trying to think of a way to help Rosmary. We went ahead and hunted then headed back to the house. It was still dark when we got back. Rosalie, Jasper, Alice and Emment had went hunting as well. Renesmee and Jacob were asleep. Esme and Carlisle were in the living room talking.

"Should we tell them?" I asked

"Yes," Edward said "I think they can help."

"What's going on?" Carlisle asked concerned.

We sat down beside them and started telling them the situation. We discussed several different solutions to try and help Rosmary. But we needed to talk to Renesmee and Jacob about them as well since they were her parents. So we just sat there waiting for morning to come so we could discuss it with them.

　

ROSMARY'S POV

I laid in my bed, I tossed and turned all night, I was worried about the next day. I did like going to school but I felt so weird about being around the other kids. I know I am different as is Anthony and even Masen. But woth my ability I was even more different. I couldn't even touch anyone cause I would expose my power. How was I suppose to play with the other kids or even sit near them. I was scared I would accidently brush against them or something and expose myself. Would they understand or freak out? I wanted so bad to fit in and be normal. Or at least as normal as I could be. I looked out the window as the sun was coming up, I knew mom would be up soon to get me up for school. I went ahead and got up and found me some clothes. I sat on the bed waiting for her to come in.

A little while later I heard a knock. "Rosmary," mom said "It's time to get up." The door opened and mom looked shocked to see me up and ready. "Honey?" she said as she sat beside me "Are you alright?"

"Yes," I replied "I just couldn't sleep so I went ahead and got ready." I smiled trying to show I was happy but mom seemed to know it was fake.

"What's wrong?" she asked putting her arm around me. "Do you not like school?"

"It's not that," I said looking up at her. "I do like it, but."

"But what?" she asked looking concerned.

"But I feel really out of place." I said "I mean I know Anthony and Masen are there with me but with my ability I feel really different. I feel like I can't get close to anyone without the fear of exposing myself."

"Oh honey," she said giving me a hug "Do you want to stay home?"

"No," I replied "I like going I just wish I could feel more comfortable."

Mom looked at me and smiled "Honey," she said "I promise we will find a way."

I smiled back and gave her another hug. "Thanks, mom" I said then we headed down to breakfast.

　

BELLA'S POV

　

Once it was morning Jacob had came downstairs as Renesmee went to wake the kids up. "Jacob?" I said "Can we talk to you a minute?"

Jacob looked concerned then walked over and sat near us. "What's wrong?" he asked.

"Well," I said "It's about Rosmary."

"What about her?" He asked confused "Is she alright?"

"She is fine." Carlisle said "But she feels out of place at school."

"I knew it," Jacob replied "I knew they should have never went."

"Calm down Jacob," Edward said "It's not like that. She wants to go, but she is afraid of exposing her power."

"Oh." Jacob said as he calmed down a bit. "What do we do?"

"We have been talking." I said "And we have a few suggestions but we wanted to talk to you and Renesmee about them first."

"Alright," Jacob replied. "What are they?"

But before we could tell him Renesmee came down the stairs with the kids, Masen, Anthony and Rosmary went into the kitchen for breakfast and Renesmee sat beside Jacob.

"She knows." Edward said

"Knows what?" I asked confused.

"About Rosmary?" he replied

We all looked at Renesmee, "Rosmary told me when I went to get her up this morning."

"Oh," Carlisle said "Well then we have some ideas that may help her."

So we sat around telling Jacob and Renesmee our ideas. "We can take her out of school." Carlisle said " I know she wants to go but it may be better if she didn't."

"Or," Edward chimed in "We can teach her to control the power so if she accidently bumps into someone it won't expose her.

Renesmee and Jacob were silent as they looked at me. "My idea is to just teach her that being different isn't a bad thing. I felt the same way even though I was normal and had no powers. But I just learned to deal with it.

Jacob and Renesmee looked at each other for a minute then turned back to us. "Why not do all but taking her out of school?" Renemsee asked "Cant she learn to control it and learn to accept it?"

"Yeah," Jacob said "And if that don't work we can take her out of school as a last resort."

Edward, Carlisle and I looked at each other then agreed. "I will teach her to accept herself." I said.

"Yes," Carlisle said "And Edward and I will teach her to control the power.

Once it was settled Renesmee and Jacob went into the kitchen to join the kids for breakfast. We sat around silent. The kids came out and got their bags and stuff for school then Renesmee and I got them into the car and headed to the school.
