Chapter 21: Learning to deal.

ROSEMARY’S POV

I sat down beside Emily thinking of a way to tell her about Masen and myself. I wasn’t sure what to say but I knew I had to tell her, I mean she was my best friend.

“Emily,” I said as I sat there playing with my food. “Can I talk to you?”

“Sure,” Emily replied with a smile as the other two girls got up and left. I guess they got the hint I wanted to talk to her alone. “What’s on your mind?”

“Um,” I said still trying to decide what to say. “About Masen.”

“Who?” she replied, like she didn’t know who I was talking about.

“Masen,” I replied “The boy you went to the birthday party for last night.” She looked at me like she was confused. “The one you like.” She looked even more confused, I wasn’t sure if she was playing with me or what. “I thought you said you liked him, how could you act like you don’t even know who he is?” I was alittle irritated by now.

“Rosemary wait,” she replied trying to calm me down.

“You said you liked him!” I shouted “Are you pretending that you don’t know him because he is with me now? What is your problem?” I stood up and was about to storm off when she jumped out of her seat.

“I like Anthony,” she shouted quickly stopping me in my tracks. “I like Anthony, Rosemary. Not Masen.” I was shocked, I didn’t know what to say. “Last night when I seen him with Addison I knew he was in love so I left.” She sat back down on the seat as I glanced around and noticed people were staring at us.

I sat back beside her as the people truend their attention elsewere. “I’m sorry Emily.” I said trying to comfort her.

“It’s not your fault, Rosemary. I knew I would never have a chance with him.” She looked up at me and smiled. “Besides there are more fish in the sea right?” she chuckled slightly but you could hear the disappointment in her voice.

“Right,” I said as we went back to eating lunch. The rest of lunch period was quit then we went back to our class and said nothing more about it.

ANTHONY’S POV

Luch was strange today I talked alittle bit with Masen but the strange part was Rosemary and Emilys conversation, everyone on the caferteria heard it when Emily shouted that she liked me. But I got lucky, I heard her say she seen me with Addison and she knew I was in love. I was glad I didn’t have to deal with that too. Dealing with Rosemary and Masen dating as well as my feelings for Addison and the fact that I am a shapeshifting wolf like my dad was enough to deal with.

I was never more glad to be out of school for the weekend, I was going to spend time with Addison this weekend and we were going to talk about where our relationship was going and what to do next. Dad and Sam are suppose to talk about us as well as mom and Addisons mom Emily. I was just glad they didn’t get mad of me changing, but then again what could they say. ‘Don’t be a freak like me?’

Finally we pull into the driveway, I get out and head straight to my room to change so I can head over to see Addison. “Anthony?” Rosemary said as she stands at my doorway. “Can I talk to you?”

“Sure” I replied motioning her in as I lay my clothes I am going to change into on my bed. “What about?”

“About today,” she began “In the caferteria.”

“It’s alright,” I reply cutting her off before she can continue. “You didn’t know.”

“I just feel so bad. “ she replied “I thought for sure she was talking about Masen.”

“It doesn’t matter now, besides you are with Masen right?” I say in a snappy way even though I didn’t mean to.

“About that,” she replied “Are you alright with it?”

“I’s not what I had expected but what can I say?” I replied as I looked at the floor. “I know how it feels to love someone and I can tell that Masen feels that way about you.”

“Really?” she replied

“Yes.” I said with a smile “He really does.” Rosemary smiled at me then gave me a hug.

“I’m glad you are alright with it. Have a good time with Addison, tell her I said Hi.” She said as she started out the door.

“I will,” I replied as I shut the door behind her and started changing clothes.

Was I really alright with this? I do understand but it was still odd. I just want her happy and I guess I would rather it be with Masen then with some stranger. Atleast he accepts her for who she is.

BELLA’S POV

Edward, Leah and myself head back to the house, I’m not sure what is going on but Edward believes Leah and if he does then so do I. I just worry about Charlie, was Leah still mad at him? Did she want her mom and him to call off the wedding? It was so confusing, Leah had been gone a long time and the last time we seen her she almost attacked Renesmee and Masen. Even though she said she was protecting them from Anthony who she didn’t know was a wolf too she didn’t mean no harm. I just have a hard time believing her at times.

We sped through the woods Edward was to the left of me and Leah was to the right, she was alittle behind us but I could still see her gray fur in my sight. Once we reached the house we slowed down, Leah went behind the tree and phased. I threw a sheet that was on the porch to her, Jacob always kept it there in case he needed it. He has gotten a lot better about phasing in anger and ripping all his clothes. Thankfully.

Edward started in the house, I was behind him and Leah slacked back some. She wanted us to prepare the family for her before she walked it, she had always been nervous around us and was afraid if she barged in with us they would get defensive since they think she tried to hurt the kids. When we got in the living room we seen Carlise,Esme,Renesmee, Jacob and Alice standing there talking.

“Edward, Bella!” Alice shrieked as she ran over and hugged Edward then me. “We have been so worried, I seen.” Then she cut her words off and her eyes pierced through us. She must have seen Leah standing in the doorway.

“Now Alice,” Edward said trying to calm her. “I know what you are thinking and it’s not like that.” Alice looked at Edward as if she was ashamed of him. Like he had betrayed her or something.

“How could you say that?” Alice said “After what she did.”

“It was a misunderstanding.” I replied quickly trying to get between Alice and Leah. “She was only trying to protect Rosemary and Masen, she didn’t know Anthony was the wolf.” Alice looked at Leah then back at me. She glanced over to Edward who nodded reassuring her that is was true.

“Fine then.” Alice said in a huff and stormed to the kitchen.

“Renesmee, Jacob.” Edward said walking closer to them. “Leah didn’t mean no harm I can assure you.” Jacob and Renesmee looked at one another.

“I know,” Renesmee said looking at Leah. “We all make mistakes.” She walked over to Leah and gave her a hug. “Thanks for looking out for the kids, I know you meant well.” Leah smiled, she seemed realived that Renesmee wasn’t mad at her. She looked over at Jacob who had one of those looks on his face but then Renesmee looked and smiled at him and he smiled back. Leah and Renesmee went into the living room and sat down.
