ROSMARY'S POV

　

　

We headed into class as I turned and seen mom and grandma leave, school was better now that I have control over my power. It's not perfect control but it makes me more comfortable knowing I can choose not to show people stuff when they touch me. We went into the classroom and sat down, as we waited for the teacher I sat there thinking about everything that has happened lately. Grandad Charlie was getting married and everyone seemed pleased by this, well everyone but Leah. I wasn't sure why she hasn't been around lately. I overheard grandma telling mom that Leah was upset about it. I wasn't sure why and neither was grandma I don't think.

Once the teacher walked in I got focused and did what I was told. The day went by quick, we did some reading and art then headed to lunch. Like always Masen, Anthony and I all sat together. Masen and Anthony had made a few other friends who sit with us as well, two of the three boys are brothers and the other one is just a friend. I didn't mind it as much now when the one would sit close to me but Masen seemed to always give the boy the same look. Like he didn't like him sitting so close to me, I didn't know what it was about maybe he was just worried about my power or something. I didn't put much mind into it I just ate my lunch and stayed quiet. When we had recess Anthony and Masen would play with the boys who sat with us at lunch, I would sit there watching them. Well today one of the other girls in our class decided to come sit with me.

"Hi," she said "I'm Emily."

"Hi," I replied with a smile. "I'm Rosemary."

"How come your sitting alone?" she asked.

"I dunno," I replied "I like sitting alone I guess." then I looked towards Anthony and Masen.

"Are they your brothers?" Emily asked smiling.

"That one is my twin." I replied as I pointed to Anthony.

"What about him?" she asked pointing to Masen.

I wasn't sure what to say technically he would be my uncle since grandmother adopted him but what was I suppose to tell Emily. "Sort of." I replied "He is part of my family but he was adopted."

"Oh" she said "That's cool."

We sat there for the rest of recess watching the boys play football and we talked about things we liked. It was kind of nice having someone to talk to other then my family. I guess you would say I had a friend. When recess was over we headed back to class and finshed our work for the day. After school we headed to meet mom and grandma. One the way home Anthony asked me about Emily.

"Who was the girl you was talking to at recess?" Anthony asked.

"Oh, that was Emily." I replied with a smile.

"Is she a friend?" mom asked as she looked back and smiled at me.

"Sort of I guess." I replied "We talked for most of recess about things we enjoyed."

"That's great." grandma said smiling

"Yeah, it was nice." I replied as I smiled back. The rest of the ride home was quiet, I stared out the window until we got home.

After we got home I went to my room and did my homework, then ate dinner. After dinner I got ready for bed. I could hear mom telling dad about Emily, she seemed so happy that I made a friend, and I was happy as well. I layed there just thinking then fell asleep.
