I sprinted through the hallway trying to find my stupid partner but he was nowhere to be found.  He had left me waiting again for the second time this week and I had no way of getting to his house without a car.  But this time I’d been waiting for more than an hour but an hour and a half and I was sick and tired of doing things on his whim.  I was furious; already missing my jujitsu class I was ready to punch him in the face.  I felt someone grab my arm to slow me down; I turned around and released my wrath on them.

“What the hell! I’ve been waiting here for an hour and a half and you just now noticed I exist you asshole I’m so tired of you! There is no possible way this can happen again I missed my class because of you! Oh you’re so lucky I’m a good person or I would have slapped you by now!”

“What did I do?” Jess said throwing his hands up in innocents.  I sucked in a big breath and calmed myself terrified that I had just lost my cool like that.

“Jess, I’m so, so sorry I thought you were someone else!” I gave him a hug trying to amend for acting like a complete idiot.

“It’s alright; I’m just glad I ran into you, um can we talk about something?” his expression suddenly turning serious as he took my hand and led me outside to a bench on the edge of the parking lot.

“Sure,” I answered hoping nothing was wrong.

“Are you ok?  You haven’t been answering your phone lately.” He said looking into my eyes like he could see a beautiful ocean but all that was there was a puddle of hazel.

“I’m fine; I’ve just been busy with a project and all.”

“We’ll I’m glad to hear that, look I’m not usually one to say this but I missed talking to you,” he said running his hands through his curly hair the dirty blonde curls bounced back into place.  I squeezed his hand back a bit reassuringly.

“I missed you too,” I whispered not sure of how I missed him.

“Well that’s good,” he said cupping my face in his hands he lowered his lips and pressed them against mine.  Shocked I couldn’t react for a moment.  He was nothing like Luke, with his chocolate skin and light pink lips that were so soft it was like kissing a cloud.  But I decided this felt nice too and I kissed back lightly.  His touch sent little sparks up my arm and his kiss became slower more passionate and I ran my fingers through his hair.  Stopping myself I pushed back from him and he smiled.

“I have to ask you something else, is that ok?” he looked at me still cupping my face, I couldn’t speak I just nodded.

“Will you go to the welcoming dance with me?”

“And leave your friend hanging?”  A voice called from behind us I turned around to see Eirie leaning on a pole behind the bench I instantly moved out of Jesse’s grasp.

“What the hell Eirie where have you been?” I asked but he ignored my question and addressed Jesse.

“We were going to go together, as friends of course,” he said gravitating his way towards us.

“We’ll it seems that you’ve been seeing a lot of her lately so how bout we go together, I mean I have known her longer.”  He said a little too nicely I could feel the hostility radiating from both of them. I stood up placing myself in-between them.

“Let’s all go together, It’ll be more fun that way!” I interjected cheerfully.

“I have no problem with that, do you?”  Eirie said a dark look contorting his face, I shivered and coward a bit in response but stood in-between them still.

“No I’m fine.” He spat harshly at him.  They stood there staring at each other for a while before the hostility began to fade.  Finally Jesse stormed off I called after him but he didn’t turn around just kept walking forward, I felt my heart sink a bit.  I looked at Eirie and slapped his arm.

“What the fuck Eirie! Did you really have to do that?” he didn’t answer or move, calming down a bit I stared at him and rubbed my head. “When did you get here and how much did you see?”

“I got here just in time to see you guys tongue wrestling if that’s what you’re interested in knowing,” he answered straight forwardly playing with his watch.

“Have you ever heard of a thing called privacy?  This is so aggravating, ugh!” I began to walk in the direction of Eirie’s car.

“You know he only wants to use you,” I turned around to face him I crossed my arms over my chest.

“Use me for what?”

“Sex, popularity,” he said, like it was some kind of fact.

“That’s not true.” I could feel my anger building up I turned around and started walking to the car again.  Eirie followed behind me in fast pursuit.

“Then if he’s known you for so long why didn’t he make his move already?  Because to him all you are is a piece off ass he can get to boost his rep,” he said grabbing my arm to hold me in place.  I turned around furious I slapped him as hard as I possibly could in the face, losing his balance he stepped back.  For the first time I saw real emotion in his eyes and it was shock.  For the first time I did something he didn’t expect and it felt good.

“You don’t know anything about him or me; you think you’re so smart don’t you?  Well let me just say you’re not.  The only one here who’s a slut is you.  Have fun tonight with whatever whore you pick up off the street I’m sure your mother is really proud of you.  Don’t even worry about driving me home I can get there by myself.”  And with that I walked off in the direction of my house instead of Eirie’s.

Picture is something similar to Jesse.
