“You seriously have to be shitting me right now! You spent the night at his house! In the same bed and didn’t have sex at all? That’s such bull shit! You guys have to had done something I mean come on look at how sexy he is for God’s sake!” Tawny said sipping on the hot chocolate I had fixed for her.
“Look I don’t know how many times I have to tell you this but we aren’t like that. I was literally almost wearing nothing and he had no interest at all.” I added stirring my tea and tasting its quality level.
“So you do wish he was thinking that way?” she asked looking at me over her mug.
“No! I didn’t say that, don’t put words in my mouth.” I said rolling my eyes at her.
“Calm down I’m just trying to get the story straight,” I sighed at her and took another sip. I really had nothing else to say; Jason walked in at that moment saving me from more embarrassing comments. Leaning over her chair he kissed Tawny and my eyes widened like a deer in headlights.
“Hey honey, I know we’re supposed to go out tonight but my family is having a formal dinner party at my aunts, sorry.”
“It’s no problem babe, I can just tag along if you want.”
“Really you would!” Tawny said taking Jason’s hand
“Yeah I’d love to meet your family.” He smiled at her; my breath caught in my throat. I managed to let a word escape.
“Um- um, what?”
“Jason, you didn’t tell her?” she asked giving him a disapproving look.
“No, I thought you told her.” He said bending down to kiss Tawny’s head.
“I don’t know but someone better tell me, like right now,” I said setting down my tea.
“Well, guess we’re just gonna tell her together,” Jason said pulling up a seat next to Tawny and taking her hand again.
“See, we’re, um dating,” Tawny said a bit nervously. My jaw dropped and the room went silent.
“Well this is awkward…” Jason said muttering to himself; running his hands through his hair.
“b-b-b-b-but I, I don’t understand. You guys really like each other?”
“No were pretending.” He said almost too honestly, I rolled my eyes at him and took deep breaths.
“Well this is something new.”
I walked down the hallway sore from yesterdays sparring match.
“Hey, I’ve been looking for you,” Kelly said catching my elbow.
“Oh, hey what’s up?”
“Eirie told me he needs to talk to you,” I looked at her questionably.
“Really?”
“Yup! Meet him at his car after school, he says he’ll give you a ride home if you want,” Kelly smiled and squeezed my shoulder.
“I’ll see you later,” she said walking off. What did he want to speak to me about? Everything had become awkward between us since that time his mom found us in bed together. I mean I know we didn’t do anything but it still didn’t ease my mind to know she had seen me like that. I shook off the thought and continued on but I found it harder to pay attention as the day progressed. I often caught myself thinking of Eirie and what he could possibly want to talk to me about. After eighth period I found Eirie’s car out in the parking lot and waited for him.
