i giggled at the comment johnny left. i've had the fattest crush on him since freshman year. johnny is the quarterback on our varsity football team and i'm on the varsity cheerleading squad. how cliche, right?

i sat back on my couch with my eyes still glued to my phone. "adrí!" my dad said, entering the living room. "que papa?" i replied in spanish. "levantate, you're going to your grandmas in a bit" he said sitting down on the couch with a beer in hand.

i looked at him. "she needs help with cleaning her house. i already helped yesterday, so it's your turn" my dad said. "seriously?" i squinted my eyes. this is not how i wanted to spend my sunday. he nodded his head, "get dressed."

i groaned and dragged my feet upstairs. i put on a pair of leggings to replace my sleep shorts. i slid on my chancla's and headed downstairs. "adri!" my little sister squealed from her room. i followed her voice and saw her sitting down on her floor with her dolls.

"yes mari?" i asked, squatting down to her level. "want to play dolls with me?" mari asked adorably. she handed me her doll and i sighed. "i would mari but papa is sending me to grandma's right now" i said. she pouted, "okay adri" mari said. she opened her arms for a hug and i accepted.

i said goodbye to my dad and took off to my grandma's. my grandma lived about 30 minutes across town, all the way in the west side. she had her own cute little home with a lot of land surrounding it.

i arrived in front of her home and parked. i got off and called my grandma to let her know i was outside. her neighborhood wasn't that sketchy, as it just was old. the houses looked old and so did the sidewalks and fences and trees and such.

she came out her house and welcomed me. "hola grandma" i smiled as she pulled me in for a hug. "my beautiful adriana, come in" my grandma greeted me with a wide grin. we went inside her home and i felt like being a kid again.

everything felt so cozy, from her wallpaper to her couches and decor. "i baked some cookies, quiere un poco?" my grandma offered me as she walked in her kitchen. i followed her, "no thank you grandma" i replied with a kind smile.

"i have one of my good friends grandson coming by to help me with some yard work" my grandma said as she pulled out a baking trey from the oven. "okay" i replied.

"i'm going to the market, want to come?" she asked me as she grabbed her tote bag.

"sure"

i drove my grandma to the nearest store and began shopping. "did you want to pick something up for yourself adri?" my grandma asked. i shook my head. "well when we get back home i'm gonna need your help going through my old things. i have a bunch of your mothers stuff, too."
