Calvin clipped his tie into place as he stood and looked at himself in the mirror. He tilted his head to the side before reaching up and smoothing his hair.
"You look so handsome," Olivia smiled as she leaned against the doorframe of her son's room. He twisted to look at her before smiling largely.
"Is my tie straight? I don't even know if I have it on right," Calvin sighed. Olivia walked to him before grabbing both sides of his bowtie and tilting it a bit to the right.
"Perfect," Olivia smiled, before kissing his forehead softly. Olivia moved to her son's bed before grabbing his suit jacket and handing it to him.
"Are you sure that you want to adopt me?" Calvin asked.
"Baby, I'm meant to be your mom. The one thing I want more than anything else is to adopt you and legally become your mother," Olivia replied.
"If you changed your mind-"
"Nothing will change my mind, Calvin! We have worked so hard to get to this point! You have been a great boy and deserve to feel safe and secure," Olivia exclaimed. She quickly grabbed her son and hugged him tightly.
Calvin mumbled something into Olivia's side, before leaning back and looking at her.
"What was that?"
"I love you."
"I love you too," Olivia smiled.

When they arrived at the courthouse, Olivia held Calvin's hand and steered him through the large amount of people waiting to be seen. Casey, Fin, Amanda, Nick, and Tiffany Owens were waiting outside of their assigned courtroom. A sign stood outside of the door informing those outside that an adoption was in progress.
"Happy Adoption Day, Calvin!" Casey exclaimed, as she stood quickly and wrapped her arms around the boy. She hadn't been excited when Olivia first took Calvin in, but now she loved that little boy and thought of him as her nephew. When Olivia invited her to the adoption, she cleared her day to be there and to celebrate afterward.
"Thanks, Case," Calvin grinned, as he hugged her back tightly.
"Are you ready to join the family?" Amanda asked once Calvin stepped away from Casey. He fist-bumped Fin and Nick before nodding excitedly at Amanda.
"So excited. I'm about to get the best mom in the world, and no one can tell me she's not really my mom anymore!" Calvin exclaimed, before turning to look at his mother. This morning he woke up nervous about what would happen, yet now he couldn't keep his excitement at bay.
Olivia reached out and caressed Calvin's cheek for a moment before excusing herself to the bathroom. As Olivia was leaving the bathroom, she stopped short when she saw Rafael standing there. He looked her over for a moment, his eyes dropping to where Olivia's midsection was swollen with their little girl. Olivia didn't know what to do or say, so she just stood there and let him look her over.
"What are you doing here?" Olivia finally asked.
"Don't go through with this," Rafael spoke as he lifted his eyes from her belly and locked eyes with her.
"Excuse me?" Olivia asked, anger starting to bubble up inside.
"Don't adopt Calvin. He's going to hurt you one day, and I don't want to see that-"
"Well, you won't be seeing that because we aren't together anymore," Olivia said with a bitter laugh.
"If he hurts our daughter-"
"She's my daughter, Rafael! You walked away and you can't just come back around whenever you feel like it!"
"Olivia-"
"Leave my mom alone!" Calvin yelled as he stomped towards where his mother's ex had cornered her.
"Little psychopath, back the fuck away!" Rafael hissed, as he leaned down and got into Calvin's face.
"Stop!" Olivia cried as she reached out to pull Rafael back. He swung back and struck Olivia in the jaw, sending her head swiveling to the side.
"Don't hit my mom!" Calvin yelled, before stomping hard on Rafael's foot and shoving him hard.
Calvin raced to where Olivia was bracing herself against the wall and placed a hand to where her jaw was throbbing. People had gathered as Rafael groaned and held his foot.
"Mom-"
"I-i'm okay, Cal. I'm fine," Olivia cooed, as she slowly dropped her hand and reached out to her son. Calvin hugged his mother's waist tightly as tears streamed down his cheeks and soaked into her dress.
"What the hell happened?!" Fin demanded, as he grabbed Rafael's arm as he tried to walk away.
"H-he was waiting outside the bathroom when I got out. Calvin heard us yelling, and he came to my rescue. Rafael hit me," Olivia spoke, as she continued to hold her son close.
"That little brat stomped on my foot and shoved me! He was the one-" Rafael started, but he stopped when security walked over.
"Get him out of here. This bastard just hit Sergeant Olivia Benson," Fin spoke, as Casey stood beside Olivia and looked at her bruised jaw.
"Did he hit you anywhere else?" Casey whispered.
"He only hit me in the jaw... I'm a little shaken up, but okay overall," Olivia replied, as she kept ahold of Calvin.

What happened in the hallway didn't cause a disruption to the adoption. The crew sat behind Olivia, Calvin, and Tiffany as Judge Adams read over the paperwork to ensure it was complete.
Olivia looked over at Calvin and smiled softly at him, her hand holding an ice pack to her bruised jaw.
"What is taking him so long?" Calvin whispered.
"He's just making sure I signed everything. It's alright," Olivia whispered back.
"What if-"
"Olivia and Calvin, please stand," Judge Adams spoke, as he sat the paperwork down in front of him.
Olivia and Calvin stood slowly, before joining hands and staring at the older man that was overseeing this adoption.
"The paperwork is in order, so this adoption can proceed. Please sign the paperwork in front of you."
Olivia signed where she was supposed to, before Calvin signed the spot to consent to his adoption. Once both pens were sat down, the paperwork was taken to the judge where they were looked over for a moment.
"The state of New York is proud to announce that Calvin Arliss is officially Calvin Benson. Congrats!" Judge Adam smiled. Olivia turned quickly and wrapped her arms tightly around Calvin.
"Welcome to the family, Cal."
