My anxiety was getting so bad to the point where I knew I was going to throw up so I ran into the bathroom just sitting by the toilet for hours. Even when I took a cold shower nothing made sense, absolutely nothing was making sense. I know for a fact that I never left my phone unattended ever so no one could take anything from my phone
The only other way someone could have access to my phone is my laptop which only I have access to, there is no password on it but I usually never leave that alone either. I remember carrying my laptop with me all the time, it wasn't like someone would even go on my laptop. Everyone at the firm is so nice and trustworthy
As I was pacing in my house trying to think of who could have had access to my laptop, I remembered the other day veebha needed to print something and her laptop just wouldn't connect to the printer so she used mine but that was barely a minute
I quickly call arun to see if he knows how to deal with this but he doens't pick so I called again and this time he picks up on the second ring
"Hello" he mumbles
"Arun"
"Nandini thank god, okay I need your help. Do you know whats going on?" He asks
"His number and some photos got leaked?" I say
"Yes not just his mhm there is a picture of you and him hugging as well, some of you two holding hands"
"I don't have a problem with it Arun you know that"
"It's not that, they are making a whole lot of shit about you and not jsut him"
"I still don't care what anyone says about me, Arun I think I may know what happened" I tell him
"What do you mean?"
"There is only two ways someone could have gotten those pictures and manik's number off me, my laptop or phone and I never leave my phone anywhere so someone got it through my laptop"
"Okay do you have any idea who it could be?" He asks
"Oh I know who it is, I'm just driving to the firm, if I send you the address will you meet me there?" I ask
"Sure, ill be there in 10"
I cut the call sending him the address, reaching the office, I put in the code to the gate because it was 2 in the morning so no one was there and besides navya and Cabir, I am the only one who knows the code
I run into the security room but it had a code obviously which I didn't know so I called up navya
"Nandini are you okay?" She asks
"Im okay, I need the code to the security room"
"3294" she says
"Woah, not gonna ask why?"
"Nope, I trust you with my life nandini so a code is nothing"
"I need it because someone and by someone I mean fucking veebha got into my laptop and leaked a bunch of manik and i's photos and his number"
"Nudes?"
"NAVYA NO NOT NUDES"
"Just wondering, ill be there in 15"
"No that's okay Arun is coming, ill text you if I need anything"
"Sounds good, be safe"
"Yes I will, bye"
"Bye"
I put the code in and started looking through some footage, Arun had came in as well and we were both swifting through the footage
"Wait is that the girl?" He asks
"Yes, yes thats her' I mumble
See I god damn fucking knew it, she used my laptop and transferred all my stuff to her phone
"Is it bad? I mean can you do some damage control?" I asked
"Oh yeah, I was more concerned for your image than his"
"why?"
"because his can be cleared with one interview, yours I wasn't sure what would happen since people are fucking stupid to blame the girl"
"Well you don't gotta worry about me, no-one knows who I am so e good"
"Girl you are drop dead gorgeous and people know who you are, mhm did he yell at you?" He asks nervously
"Worse but it's fine"
"Don't leave him" he mumbles
"Arun for me, trust is the number one thing and though this situation is horrible, I wish he had shown some kind of trust in me, something honestly anything. Even if he said he was upset and knows it's not something id do, I would be okay"
"Nandini he had a hot head"
"Trust me I know and I really appreciate you backing him up and everything but I am not sure if there is something even left of us"
"What? No don't say that"
"Its true, Arun you know I never thought what I felt for manik was more than a crush but it was way more. I wanted something with him even though I haven't told him but I did want something and when he accused me, I begged, I literally begged him that I didn't do it. I swore on my parents grave Arun, something I would never lie about but to him it was nothing"
He smiles patting my head
"I will always support you no matter what"
"Thank you' I whisper
"I will get this info to HR" he says
"I can have navya set up an interview in the next couple hours to clear his name"
"Thank you so much" he says
"Not at all dude, i'll see you in a bit. I am going to get everything prepped" I say grabbing my stuff before I lock out of all the systems
I drove home and the rest of the morning I just prepped some questions and some ways to clear his image and then it was around 11 when I headed back into the firm after showering
As soon as I stepped inside I saw him sitting there on the couch, he didn't look good at all, I wasn't even sure if he was sober but I took a deep breath walking to navya
"Here" I say handing her the notepad
"You can question him"
"no absolutely not, I don't even want to be around him but it's his image that needs to be cleared so I'm here. Mhm navya why don't you question him, you know what you are doing"
"I will but just so you know he has asked about you like a zillion times, not to mention he wasn't sober when he came in" she says
My eyes move back to him, it hurt seeing him like that but his words hurt me more, sure he can be hot headed, I am too but he didn't listen to a single thing I said
"I know, he doesn't look sober right now either"
"pretty sure he isn't so we are delaying it a bit"
"Give him lemon water and a black coffee" I mumble
"Why don't you?" She asks
"because I can't even look at him right now, it hurts way too much navya, his words are floating in my head and I can't look at him the same, not until he realizes what he did"
"he will, trust me he was already looking for you"
"whatever, mhm I am going to go get ready" I tell her
"Nandini, where is she? Arun get nandini for me" I hear him
"Shut up, drink this" navya says walking over with the lemon water I handed her
"No, I want nandini"
"She doesn't wanna see you" she tells him
"I know" he whispers
"But she gave this lemon water" hearing that he sips on it immediately and then the coffee as well that I gave to Cabir
