"I can hear your heart from here," Oliver jokes while he finished plating the cookies. I had insisted that we baked some snacks instead of making the omegas do it. It is not surprising to me that he has never even touched a baking tool; however, it did surprise me that he was actually good at it. He wraps his arms around me from behind and puts his head on the nape of my neck inhaling my scent. He's been a lot more touchy since the car incident but I don't have it in me to push him away. Must be the mate bond working its magic. "tonight will go fine." he finishes kissing my right temple.
I sigh. I can't help but worry. I don't have direct history with his friends but they didn't seem like the open minded type when they were openly criticizing me at school. For his sake I will give them a fair chance. I pour the rest of the chips in the bowl. While mentally checking items off my list. We have chips, cookies, sandwiches, pretzels, chocolate, sodas, juice, bottled water, and I am missing something. What am I missing?
"Is there anything else your friends might like?" I ask Oliver quickly. His friends should start coming downstairs soon. It's convenient to live in a pack house I guess. "I think they will be fine with the all this junk. They will need some extra training just to work it off." He laughs. "I am serious, I feel like we are missing something crucial" I ponder.
"POPCORN!" Of course! We are watching a movie how did I forget about popcorn. I facepalmed and started the microwave.

"Marina, this is Levi, my beta" Oliver gestures to a caramel toned guy with curtly dark brown hair and light brown eyes with golden specks. He stands at about 6'4 but his stature makes him appear to be taller. He exudes confidence. I have seen him around at school but he has always been quiet and composed. "And this is his mate Alana." She squeals and hugs me. I flinch on instinct. She stands back with a sad look and quietly apologizes for her outburst. She has a slim but muscular build towering over me at 6'1. She is on our schools cheerleading team and she is in my graduating year. She has always seemed to be nice even though we have never talked; but, she has never said anything negative about me. She is pale but in a healthy way which works well with her fiery red hair and green eyes. "It's okay, I am just not use to this kind of attention." I say trying to console her but it seemed to have the opposite affect.
Oliver cleared his throat and went on with the introductions. "This is Braxton and his mate Blair" Braxton is Alanas older brother sporting the same skin tone and hair but he has hazel eyes instead of her green. He is also taller than her at 6'3. Blair reminds me of a raven with her jet black hair and brown eyes. She is a bit intense with her blood red painted lips and cat eye makeup but I think her ultimate goal is to intimidate. She has succeeded. Believe it or not, she is also on the cheerleading team at our school and is also in my graduating year. She stands at 6'2. "This is my sister Sky" She giggles obviously holding herself back from a friendly attack. I smile shyly at her. If I remember correctly, she is a sophomore and is on the dance team. She is also vice president of the drama club. She has that same dirty blond hair as Oliver but it is more curly. She has the same brown eyes as well but of course she has softer features than her brother. She stands at 6 feet even. " and Finally this is my Gamma Peyton." He gave me a small smile. He had a dark complexion and chiseled features with long tamed dreadlocks. His eyes were a chocolate brown and he stands at 6'4.
I have a positive history with him as he has tried to help me in the past. My brother, Xavier, slammed my face into the the locker once forgetting that we were at school. I had accidentally bumped into him in the hallway when I had became dizzy. I hadn't eaten in a few days and had undergone major punishment the night before. I had accidentally gotten blood on him when I bumped into him and he was ready to teach me a lesson. Lucky for me, Xavier was stopped by Peyton who was skipping class at the time. It could have been a 'right place at the right time' type of moment but my brother never got to punish me that day and I appreciate Peyton for being there.
"H-Hello, It's nice to officially meet you all" I shudder inwardly cursing at myself for fumbling my words. I jump at the sound of someone clapping their hands, "Now that introductions are out of the way, let's get started on some games." says sky already making her way towards the table where the games and snacks are set up. "Marina, what would you like to play first?" I shrug my shoulders. " I never played any of them so any game will be fine." I say looking at my feet. "How about a friendly game of Uno?" says Braxton holding up the deck of cards. Everyone laughs. "Am I missing the joke" I questioned. Alana nudges me slightly, "There is nothing friendly about Uno" but it's just a game of cards...."Blair always cheats!" I laugh at the feigned look on Blairs face. " What do you mean by cheat?" she smirks, " I always play by the house rules" Oliver chuckles while shaking his head.
"Consider my curiosity peeked. Let's play Uno." I declare. Wrong choice of words because Oliver smirks and leans in to whisper in my ear, "There you go getting curious again..maybe not in front of our friends." I smile at him using the word our so loosely, "say the word and I will end this game night and take you in my bedroom in the matter of seconds." I blush wildly and clear my throat. "Shall we play?!" I try to say with an even tone but it came out more like a prepubescent squeal. He laughs. That boy has no control.

"Your next move will decide it all. Show us your true colors Marina," Levi says lowly. I smile knowing that he is joking. Turns out, the cool and collected demeanor they were all wearing when they met me was just a facade. One simple game of Uno brought out their personalities almost immediately. I smirked. Apparently, I am competitive. I have been losing my whole life; however, I can fight to win in this game. "Everyone draws 2 cards from my hand." I say smirking at their gaping looks. "You can't do that!" screams Alana. "That has to be against the rules!" Peyton exclaims. Everyone else mumbles in agreeance.
I smile in triumph, "Did y'all not explain to me that when you draw this card," I hold up the card for dramatics, "I can choose my own rule" they hesitantly nod their heads and I can see a small smile tug onto Olivers lips. "Well, this is the rule I am choosing." Everyone grumbles but follows my rule. "Oh look, I am out of card" I laugh, "Uno and Uno out"
"I don't think I want to play anymore" whines Sky while Blair mumbles "Fair played" while smirking at me.
"How about we move on to the movie segment of our night?" Suggests Braxton. I can tell that his ego is slightly bruised.
We pick up all the snacks and move to the theatre room. "What should we watch?!" asks Alana in excitement. "Don't act like we will be watching any of it" winks her mate Braxton. She giggles and slaps his chest. I see horn dogs run in this pack. Of course my mate is lead horn hog.
"I think we should watch a horror movie" smirks Oliver. "I'd love to get closer to my mate"
Why am I not surprised.
