A few days later I had just closed up the pumpkin shop for the night. I just wanted to stop and pick up my order from the local bar and grill, my burger and fries and go home.
I parked my car and went inside and up to the bar.
"Hey sweetie, here to pick up your order?" Clint said and I smiled since I didn't know he was working that night. Him and Laura owned the place.
"Yep, just got off work and want to go home." I said and he smiled walking back to the kitchen for a minute. As I waited, I took a seat.
"Well, well, well twice in a couple days' time..." I heard a voice say and I turned to look and see Lemar sitting a few seats away.
"Well, the fact that you came to my job the first time you saw me, it's not that surprising."
"Well, I didn't plan on see you, I was hoping to find your brother." Lemar said.
"Why do you want to start trouble with John?" I asked.
"Come on Autumn, you know why. I loved Olivia, I just want to know what happened." I scoffed with a laugh.
"Loved Olivia?! She was married with a kid! She had a life. I know she was cheating and sleeping with you but still. She called it quits when she realized she loved John. You need to just stay away from my family." I said.
"Or what?" Lemar asked.
"What?" I asked confused.
"Or what? What will happen to me?" Lemar asked.
"I don't make threats Lemar, you do and that's what you did the other day to me. Please just say away." I said.
Lemar moved closer to me "I don't make threats Autumn, I make promises." He said in a tone just above a whisper. I was stunned to silence.
"Problem here?" Clint asked walking up and I shook my head slightly and looked at Clint.
"No, I just want to go." I said and he handed me my bag of food.
"On the house." Clint said and I went to pay.
"You sure?" I questioned and he nodded. "Private hayride for the family. Just come by this weekend." I added and Clint smiled.
"Thanks Autumn." Clint said. I gave one final look to Lemar.
"Just stay away from my business and my family." I said getting in Lemar's face and leaving the bar. I was shaking by the time I got to my car, and I didn't know how I was going to drive. As I was trying to calm myself down, I looked and saw Lemar leave the bar as well. He saw me sitting in my car and smirked at me. I glared at him and started up my car.
🎃 🎃 🎃
I ran into Lemar at the Bar and Grill last night and I was slowly forgetting about it and going about my life.
I was down working on the cart with Thor and Garrett getting it set up for hayrides. As I was getting everything worked out Loki, Thor's brother, came walking up, wrapped his arms around my waist and spun me around. I screamed unsure of what was happening.
"LOKI! God! Always causing mischief." I said and he laughed.
"Why not?! I love it!" He said and I smiled.
"Think you could help your brother get some hay bails from the barn to put in here as seats?" I asked and Loki nodded as he walked away to the barn. I looked at Garrett who was sitting in the cart and I noticed a look of worry on his face.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"Do you think I could stay with you tonight? Dad has been acting weird and I just don't want to be at the house." Garrett asked and I sighed but nodded.
"Yeah, we'll tell your dad later, okay?" I asked and Garrett nodded. He stood up to come off the trailer and I heard something on it crack which meant something was broken. I quickly got Garrett off and started inspecting it as Thor and Loki came back out. "Before those go on, something cracked. I don't know how much more work we can do on this thing until we need a new one." I said and Thor sighed as he started inspecting it.
Thor and I had been working on the trailer of the past few days making sure it was going to be able to work.
"We have that one that Banner was trying to get rid of and still in good shape. Why don't we go check it out?" Thor asked and I nodded.
"Yeah, it might not hurt. Garrett go get your dad for me please." I said and he went running off as Thor, Loki and I started cleaning off the bad trailer.
"What can we do with this one?" Loki asked.
"Move it to the front, I can use it near the front for a display or something outside. I'll figure it out." I said and Loki nodded.
John came walking down with Garrett.
"It's really a lost cause?" John asked and I nodded.
"It is. Banner had one that we were thinking about getting from him. Thor and I were going to go pick it up." I said and John nodded.
"Sounds good, this one's been going bad for a while." John said and I nodded. I sighed with a nod.
Once we all finished getting the cart cleaned Loki left it on the tractor and took it near the front of the pumpkin patch. John and I were looking at the customers and I sighed.
"Mom, dad and Olivia would have been happy to see how this place is thriving this year." I said and John groaned.
"Don't get sentimental on me Autumn." John said, I rolled my eyes. He went to walk away but stopped in his tracks. "They don't fucking give up!" He growled and I saw Detective Fury and Detective Stark come walking towards us.
"Just don't say anything." I said to John.
"Gentlemen, to what do we owe this visit? Finally, here to buy some pumpkins?" I asked. I saw they had 2 officers with him.
"We aren't here for a social visit. Autumn Walker you're under arrest." Stark said.
"FOR WHAT?!" I screamed. The cop came behind me.
"Aunt Autumn?!" Garrett panicked.
"For the murder of Lemar Hoskins. You have the right to remain silent-..." The cop started to say as he handcuffed me, and I looked at John.
"John?!" I panicked.
"Don't say a word Autumn, I will get you a lawyer!" John yelled as they escorted me away.
"AUNT AUTUMN!" Garrett yelled and ran after me. He wrapped his arms around my waist.
"Hey, it's alright, a misunderstanding. Go back to your dad." I said bending to kiss the top of his head and he let me go.
We walked to where the cop car was parked, and I was put in the back like a criminal...
