**1 YEAR LATER**

It was that time of year again, time to open the pumpkin patch. The first day of the season was always the best but this year it was a little bittersweet.

I was the only Walker running the place now. One hundred percent shareholder.

John had no leg to stand on with his confession, pleaded guilty and was going away for the rest of his life. I didn't feel any guilt.

Olivia's body was found, and I gave her a proper burial giving Garrett and I a proper goodbye. Her family also showed up and came clean about hiring Steve and Bucky, but I told them I knew, and I was sorry for what happened to their daughter.

I petitioned the courts for guardianship of Garrett, and I was quickly awarded custody. He was living with me as was Steve. We all moved in together, we sold John's house, and those profits went directly into the patch. I was running around the shop trying to get everything taken care of before we opened.

"Aunt Autumn, calm down. Everything will be fine." Garrett said sitting on the counter.

"Garrett, with everything that happened last year, I'm just so nervous that we won't get the customers we used to." I said and he smirked at me as Steve came walking in with Bucky and Nat.

"Steve, she's panicking!" Garrett ratted me out. Steve looked at me.

"Baby, you need to calm down. Everything will be fine. Customers are already filling the expansion lot across the street. It's going to be a huge turnout." Steve said and gave me a small kiss and I sighed.

"I just need everything to be perfect." I said.

"And it will be, please relax." Steve said and headed outside with Bucky. Nat walked over to me.

"Yeah...maybe don't stress yourself out..." Nat said, and I sighed.

"Okay fine...I'll go outside and get some fresh air." I said.

"Sounds perfect but you are to take it easy after the official opening." Nat said and I saluted her.

"Yes ma'am!" I said and we both laughed waling outside.

I did the grand opening speech thanking everyone for coming and telling them I was looking forward to seeing them all this year. The typical speech I always tried to give. Once it was officially open, I walked into the shop and saw Karli and Loki behind the counter, and I smiled.

"Loki, leave your girlfriend alone and go get to work." I said and he laughed. He leaned in and kissed Karli's cheek and walked out. I looked at Karli.

"You okay? You got everything handled?" I asked and she nodded.

"I sure do. Stop stressing." Karli said and I laughed and just shook my head.

"I will...when everything is handled and going well." I said.

Once they had John's confession the charges against Karli were dropped and I made good on my promise. I found her a place to live and a job working for me. It seemed instant when I started to bring her around that Loki was hooked, couldn't leave her alone and was always around to help when she was around. They quickly started dating and now only a month later they were so happy and dare I say falling in love.

I walked back outside, mingled and then felt a hand on my back as someone walked up behind me. I jumped slightly since I didn't hear anyone.

"It's only me." Steve whispered in my ear, and I smiled turning to see him. He leaned down and gave me a small kiss. "Can you please come and have a cup of hot chocolate and take a break with me, Bucky and Nat?" Steve asked and I nodded.

"I will meet you guys at the picnic tables in a few minutes. I need to get something first..." I said and Steve nodded. He walked away and I smirked as I started walking up and down the aisles of pumpkins looking for the perfect one.

Once I found what I was looking for I looked at Nat, Bucky and Steve as I sat down across from Steve and next to Nat.

"Here you go. I got you a pumpkin spice hot chocolate. Figured enjoy the pumpkin season." Bucky said and I smiled as I took a sip from it.

"Okay this is amazing." I said and Bucky smiled. I looked at Nat and she smiled with a nod.

"What is going on?" Steve asked and I smiled.

I grabbed the mini pumpkin from beside me where it was hiding it and placed it on the table.

"I got you a baby pumpkin." I said and Steve looked at me oddly.

"What?" He chuckled. I sighed.

"A baby pumpkin...." I emphasized.

Steve looked at me, at the pumpkin, at Bucky and Nat then back to me. I looked at Nat and Bucky.

"Wow..." Nat said shaking her head. I started to panic.

Steve kept looking and then gasped.

"A baby pumpkin...are you pregnant?!" Steve asked and I nodded.

"I am, 2 months. I just found out the other day and I knew this was the perfect way to tell you." I said and Steve laughed as he leaned across the table and passionately kissed me.

"Well...I have something too." Steve said reaching in his pocket and dropping something down the stem of the pumpkin. I saw an engagement ring.

"Steve, are you....?" I asked. He walked around the table and came to crouch down in front of me.

"Autumn Walker, we may have met under some weird circumstances and been through the ringer but the one constant at the end of it was always you and me. I told you last year that you were my future and I think now is the time to make everything future official. We are starting a family, and everything is falling into place. Will you marry me?" Steve asked taking the ring off the pumpkin and holding it in front of me.

"Yes!" I exclaimed and Steve slipped the ring on my finger with a smile. I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him as he stood up. I pulled my head back and he leaned down and passionately kissed me.

"A baby and an engagement all in 10 minutes...are we crazy?" I asked and Steve nodded but smiled.

"I wouldn't have it any other way." Steve said and leaned in passionately kissing me again.
