"I'm gonna throw up." Blondie was doubled over, one hand on one of his knees, the other gripping your shoulder for support. You patted his back, eyes occasionally darting to the unconscious Lilith on the floor.
"Don't throw up, dude-"
"I'm gonna fucking throw up!"
"You have your mask on, don't throw up.
"Did you see what I did?! Holy shit, I'm-"
"You've been chased by Phantoms, gone through a raid, got caught by the cops– You've had plenty of other opportunities to throw up, DO NOT throw up now!" You listed the events of the night. He turned to you, wide-eyed.
"I killed the Head of the Emperor's Coven!" He hissed, nails digging into your shoulder. You raised both brows. "I checked her pulse myself, she's literally fine."
"Still, what are we supposed to do?! We can't just leave her here!" He straightened up and gestured to Lilith with both his arms.
"Actually, that's exactly what we're gonna do." The moment the words came out of your mouth, Blondie slapped his hands onto either side of your face and dragged you down to his eye level.
"ARE YOU CRAZY?" He was yelling at you as softly as he could.
"Do you really want me to answer that?" You mumbled through squished lips.
"HELL NO!" He shook his head. His hands fell away from your face and ran through his hair. You had to keep the chain connecting you two from smacking him in the face.
"Why on earth would we leave her here?!" His voice cracked on the first word, to which you withheld a snicker. You quirked a brow at him.
"Well number one:" You lifted one finger and tapped it with another from the opposite hand. "We are literally chained together. Running by itself was a trial, but running while carrying a grown-ass woman whose completely knocked the fuck out? No way. Number two: if she wakes up, what the fuck are we gonna do? As much as I hate to admit it, she's pretty strong. I may have been raised by the most powerful witch on the Boiling Isles, but even I know better than to fight against a coven head while chained to another person. We got the drop on her once, she won't let us do it again. Plus, I doubt we'll find another chair you can bash her over the head with."
"SHHH! Not so loud!" The boy creaked, pushing a singular silencing finger to your lips. You took his hand by the wrist and lowered it so his finger was right beside the two you had raised.
"Three: she's better off here than anywhere out there with us. We'd only talked to her for like what– ten, fifteen minutes? – before one of us ended up knocking her out."
"It was an accident!"
"I know! That's why we can't afford anymore." You placed a hand on either of his forearms, chain clinking as it dragged past itself. "Trust me, she'll be fine. I've watched her survive worse."
Blondie's brows furrowed with what you could only assume to be consideration. His eyes went past you, undoubtedly to land on Lilith. His pupils narrowed down into small pools of black, overflowing with the weight of a decision he had not yet spoken into existence. He locked his eyes with your own once more. You felt something slam in your chest.
